Help on value of Cutlass convertible

Well I'm still looking for the right car... I honestly haven't looked at that many over the last few months, but what I've seen has generally been hacked-up somewhat even if the overall car looks ok.

At this point I think I'm in a Cutlass budget rather than 442, so...

I'd like opinions of what a solid rust-free (never rusted) '70-'72 Cutlass convertible should go for. Assume decent paint and color combo. I'd take a bench seat for a really clean ride, but prefer buckets.

Thanks.

I am seeing pretty nice cars 10,000-12,000 right now. A year and a half ago similar cars were 15,000-18,000

Thanks Richard - that's the kind of info. I'm looking for, although I expect rust-free is a bit more common in TX than in NJ. I have been following your restoration thread (along with everyone else) and am very impressed with your work. I can't wait to see the final product.

The irony is my rust free car came from up there.

not too many....

rohebo, I used to see cutty's around ( even verts ) not too many nowadays, and rust free, welllllllllllllllllllllllll they are out there but even rarer, one good source in jersey is the old car news, and there is always carlisle in the spring ... good luck, I am down by exit 9 on the pike. hope to be restarting my resto on my 69 vert soon.

I picked up my 71 vert for 5700. Moter, frontend, interior and trans all had been redone. Paint is fair and normal rust in normal places. It was a half done project. Will start on body in the near future.

Boy, if I didn't know better, I'd say that was a picture of my house in Hawthorne when I lived there in the 1980s!

My house was even the same color yellow stucco.

Found this

It's not as far as Texas, but looks good none the less. I've seen it listed for a while. You'll probably have to leave NJ, but may not have to go too far for a good ride....

If the Cleveland cutlass had clean floors, frame, and trunk, that would sell in 1 day here in CT.

My friend purchased a 71 cutlass convertible last summer. Original 350 drive train, bench seat interior. New paint with SSIII wheels. Good curb appeal. Clean car. $11,500. I thought he did OK.
