Finally got the C/S on the road

After picking up this car months ago, finally got it road worthy. Had to repair the windshield channel and then install a new windshield. Also did some tune up work on the motor which I believe hasn't been out of the car ever, 180k miles later. Seems to run pretty well considering the mileage. The only other major things that will need attention are the body mounts. The front four and the two most rearward are the only ones intact per se. The rest are rusted away

Beautiful looking car. Just don't corner so sharp or the body will fall off the rustout points. I'm not that surprised that the engine was original even at 180K. They were solid performers.

Oh man, that looks like a Bad Boy with the dual carb high rise! I bet she scoots when dialed in. What motor is that? 400?

It's a 455 .030 over and unfortunately haven't had it running long enough to check it out. Had a valve guide loosen up and a lifter that failed wrecking the cam. Will be build differently next year sometime.

Well I'm glad you quit dragging your feet on that one, LOL. Seriously it is a sweet rig. The body mounts will probably be a challange. They are a pain even on rust free cars.

Thanks for all the comments and yes "oldcutlass" I was dragging my feet for sure. I think I was almost scared to do the windshield install and it actually was not too bad to do. The first time I was off a little and had to remove it and try it again. The trim was the hardest to do.

Beautiful Cutlass, liking the black top and burgundy paint! Too bad about the body mounts being rotted, been there done that with my 1980 CS. The 4 rear mounts on mine weren't there anymore, so I had a Monte Carlo cut up for good replacements. It donated a complete floor pan as well. Take care...
