Exhaust clamps?

Hey everybody, I bought these band clamps (http://www.jegs.com/i/PYPES/958/HVC21/10002/-1) for my pypes trumpet exhaust tips but while browsing around I found these (http://www.jegs.com/i/PYPES/958/HVC10/10002/-1). I was wondering if I should return the ones I bought and switch to the other type or keep the ones I got? Which is the better clamp for the exhaust tips? Thanks

I had my SS trumpets welded on, this leaves space for the clamp supporting the tail pipe.

Assuming you don't want to weld your trumpets on, you can get the stepped and straight band clamps from RockAuto (either no-name brand or Walker brand) for less money. I use these clamps exclusively now on exhaust systems. They are great and make it easy to disassemble the pipes later. The Walker ones are well worth the few extra dollars, in my opinion.

My question is, assuming use of the original rear tail pipe hangar, how do you get a clamp around the band clamp to 'hang' the pipe/trumpet?

Probably not the right answer, but I drilled and put a couple of screws where they fit under the factory style hanger and cannot be seen. Easily removed.
