dual exhaust

dual exhaust

i have 66 cutlass holiday coupe 330. want to switch to dual ehaust i have to remove crosspipe but do i have to change exhaust manifolds?

Not really, I believe you can just install a plug in the crossover inlet. The 330 won't be much different than the 350 for exhaust IIRC and that's what I did with mine. If you want to go to a 'true' dual exhaust manifold you can buy Thorntons new JR system that duplicates the W/Z manifolds Olds put on the 455 U and X code cars. Have a look

thanks alot big big help. anything in peticular i need to know to drop jet-a-way tranny out really appreciate it

I have no experience with taking them out, so the only thing I would say is 'don't drop it on your head, it will hurt'.

I know you have to take out the driveshaft first (remove universal and pull the driveshaft off the tranny spline. Then comes the fun I have to learn about later this year......In the meantime just so you don't get left hanging in the air on this, please look at the following. Here's the Jetaway Trans section from the 66 Chassis Service Manual (CSM)
