Decoding my Cutlass

Ok, I'm still trying to figure out the details of my car. Can someone help me break down my VIN? Its 336870M4115211. From what I already know, its a 350/4bbl auto, bench seat, vinyl top, A/C car. Beyond that, I have no idea. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated.

Well from the VIN we say it's a cutlass V8 with a Holiday pkg from 1970 built in Lansing MI.

Post the cowl tag picture and we can tell you more.

We need you to post the trim tag that's riveted to the top of the firewall, under the hood above the brake booster. That will say where it was built, the factory color of the interior & exterior plus what options it was born with.

Gotcha. I'll post what the other tags have on them as well. What is the Holiday package? And thanks for the info so far, I appreciate it!

There is no Holiday package.

Rather, Oldsmobile often referred to its hardtop bodystyles as "Holiday." I'm gonna guess it's a Cutlass S hardtop coupe?

So, in other words, do your due diligence to confirm what's mentioned on forums because you're going to get all kinds of opinions on stuff.

Doh Diego is right no Holiday pkg. Holiday refers to the window style with no frame around the glass or "post coupe" correct terminology "sports coupe"

Silver is sport coupe.

ST 70 = style/model year = 1970

33687: 3 = GM division = Oldsmobile; 36 = model series = Cutlass V8; 87 = body type = holiday coupe (2-door hardtop without the post)

LAN = assembly plant = Lansing MI

513183 BDY = Fisher body number (no relation to your VIN at all)

TR 942 = interior color and front seat type = green interior with a split bench seat

45 G PNT = lower body color (45) and upper body color/top type (G) = aspen green (45) with a green vinyl top (G)

07B = time build code = July (07), second week of that month (B), 1970. Your is a late production car!

B80 = option code for exterior drip scalp moulding.

Your car should not have any of the problems early production cars have!

And the down side is "what we deem as scrap, at the end of the run, plant managers and production managers said run it so there is nothing left"

A quote from my Dad Lansing Plant#2 1968-1992

07B That's almost on top of model year change over.
