Correct Coil placement?

Correct Coil placement?

Is this the correct placement for the coil on a 72 350? It's almost touching the valve cover...doesn't seem right for some reason. Trying to replicate the factory alignment but can't find any source of reference for this. Probably seems like a minor point but it's the type of thing that keeps me awake at night... Thanks!

It shouldn't be hitting the valve cover. The bottom edge of mine is about even with the top edge of the valve cover base outside edge, not a lot of room in there, sits at a slight angle. Mine looks just like the pic. The assembly manual looks like that too.
Maybe we're both wrong.

That's where mine is sitting. Looks fine.
