Well my impact strip is coming loose in a couple of places. My question is, is it possible to remove just the chrome outer shell of the rear bumper while it is still attached the car? I know there is an inner structure to the bumper. It looks like there are several bolts that run under the bottom that attach the outer chrome piece to the inner structure. Is that all I need to remove to seperate the two? I have tried double sided tape but it is not holding.

 

Al, bumper needs to come off to get to the rub strip attachments- some of the bosses have nuts others slide into clips - common issue and not easy to remove without twisting off additional bosses - I have went as far as splitting the nuts- clips with a burr to get them off.

If it is pulling away on the two outer humps might want to try a heat gun- while on car to see if you can get it to push to the bumper easier- never did this before but thought of it several times.
