72 Cutlass Supreme Roll Cage?

Hi I'm new here. I have a 72' Cutlass Supreme with a 350. I would like to put a roll cage in it along with racing seat and harness. I tried google some ideas, results are all mainly welded cages or this only "tiger cage" that is costing $3000. I'd prefer to have a bolt-in cage as cheap as possible. Any recommendations?

Bolt in cages for full frame cars do nothing. You need to weld it to the frame. Competition engineering has a kit that works on the gm A body which is your car. There is no bolt on kit that I know of.

Thanks. Any recommendations for a quick release for the side bars? I really don't like climbing over the cage all the time

Where are you located? This is on the Portland Oregon Craigslist for $900 and already has a roll cage installed. 1968 Cutlass 2 door.

I just found one from Competition Engineering website, it fits 1966-1967 Chevy II, will it fit in the 72'? And does it come in pieces just needs to be welded together?

I am running the comp cams roll bar kit, I redid my back bars because the ones that come in the kit would go direct thru were your back seat is, I rolled mine to go thru the speaker holes......I am a big guy and they make quick release tabs you weld and pin in when you race....To make use of the roll bar it needs to be welded in, It ties the frame with the body of the car so there is less body roll and strong enough to save you during a accident......What are your goals with the car? You only need a roll bar for 11.50 and faster .......If you are not going to run faster than that i would avoid a roll bar ......I will look for my pics...

I don't need it to be a 9 sec car or something, I just want some extra safety when encountering a roll. Pro-street rear runners? Also is it possible not to use the speaker holes? I want to keep my speakers

Is this a street car?? Better check with Insurance Co. as up here in Ontario Canada I've heard that Ins. Co's are refusing to insure vehicles with Roll bar/ cages!!! safer to me but classed as a "race car"

Check Summit or Jegs for a roll cage kit for a 1968-72 A-body, Chevelle.
