72 cutlass S question

Does anyone have a picture of the correct grilles for a 1972 Cutlass S? or did it vary?
i am convinced my grille is not correct to my car

Thanks
-Austin

Register at http://wildaboutcarsonline.com/cgi-b...plate.cgi?id=8 then go to the library and in the Olds section you can check out the '72 assembly manual and it has grill identification, should be in section eleven.
The site is an invaluable resource.

Check this out too.

I see them with the Supreme and 442 grills too but I think they've been changed and they only came with the grills pictured originally.

question

Do you have another car? You mentioned a 72 Cutlass S. Your avatar pic shows a 70 rear bumper on Cutlass S?

As mentioned above that 442, Supreme and S cars had different grilles.

If you buy Reproduction covers it "should" have little black dots on the inside where you're supposed to make the holes for the buttons.

I decided not to install buttons for my car. I dont want more of a chance of the fabric ripping.

Bobby,

GTO and Cutlass were both A-Bodies, If you post your VIN and Cowl tag the folks on this forum will be able to tell you if you have a true post/rare car.

No worries, I understand your concern, when i bought my own car the Previous owner told me my car was a post car, being new to olds i thought, great, i have one of the 6500 odd post cars built in 72.

Turns out to be a post you need to have an actual "post" running from the door to the roof. Ive never actually seen a post car in real life. But would be cool if you have one.
