71 Cutlass Conv New Suspension-Before and After

Just got my olds back from the shop this week after install of new front suspension kit, center link, shocks, front and rear springs. After 42 years, the rear end sagged a little more than I liked. I love how she looks now and handles much better. Need to upgrade upper and lower rear control arms but like anything else, not in the budget right now.

Be sure to add rear sway bar if you haven't already. That makes a HUGE difference on Cutlass S and Supremes.

Looks nice. Nothing worst than a saggy rear end!

I had abudget of $1,000 WITH labor which prohibited the all MOOG rebuild kit. I went with the standard kit offered by Original Parts Group with the rubber bushings. I did get a MOOG center link, MOOG front sway bar bushings, AC Delco springs and front shocks from Rock Auto (Google for the 5% discount code). Here is the breakdown:
OPG Standard Front End Kit - Part# RK1008 $252 (Free Shipping Deal over Memorial Day)
Moog Center Link - Part# DS749 $51.79 (Rock Auto great price - Compare same part at OPG $138!!!)
AC Delco Front Springs - Conv with A/C Part# 45H0052 $94.79
AC Delco Front Shocks Part# 520179 $34.50
AC Delco Rear Springs - Conv Part # 45H2015 $48.79
Rear Coil Spring Insulators - Part# 45G18001 $2.05
Moog Front Stabilizer Bar Bushings - Part# K5253 $4.60
Shipping $50. Total Parts $528.
Had a local shop do the install that included replacing a gasket for a leaky differential for $575. Grand Total Parts and Labor $1,103.

Sounds like you got everything done for a good price. I have used Rock Auto for my parts too, they definitely save you $$$.

Car looks great too!

That's great. Looks like you put a good bit of thought into making cost effective choices to renew that suspension. Stance is nice.

Wow! What a difference. I replaced all,the bushings and up graded the boxed control arms and sway bay on mine but did not change springs. Guess what will be on the list when it gets back from the body shop. So you used stock replacement conv. Springs? Looks great

Yes. I did not want heavy duty and read about variable rate (which I was ignorant of) and decided on the standard replacement. I am happy with the ride so far.
