70-72 Cutlass Swivel Bucket Seat Installation
Has anyone ever installed swivel bucket seats from a '73-'77 Cutlass into a '70-'72 Cutlass, or even regular folding buckets w/ the built-in headrests? I'm wondering if they will bolt up or if the brackets don't line up and need fabrication?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Bob

I once had the swivels in my 71. You will need to fab some spacers, or the seats will be tilted. This is not a bolt in, at least wasn't for me.
If you are a tall person, your head might rub on your head liner. Swivels sit higher.
I say try it. Remove your current seats and place the swivels in there and get a look at it. See what you think.

Thanks for the replies. It sounds like the non-swivel might be the way to go.
Any thoughts on '71-'81 Camaro seats? They are similar in style and appearance. I like the look of the built-in headrests.
I have the factory buckets in my '72 Cutlass Supreme and I want to try something a little different in my '72 Cutlass 'S'.

The only buckets that bolt in are the originals. Any others will require fabrication. If you must drill new mounting holes, be sure they go through the floor pan crossmembers, not just through the floorpan only. Otherwise, the bolts will eventually rip out, especially in an accident.
