70 350 rocket

70 350 rocket

i just got a 70 350 rocket to put into my 77 cutlass supreme will my 77 350 brackets work on the 70 block?

Okay cause. I was seeing some alternator and things in the passenger side. And in my 77 its on the driver side so I guuess its just interchangeable

Passenger side is for non-A/C, driver's side is for A/C. The water pump and pulleys MUST match the brackets.

okay so i just got a rebuilt 70 350 rocket and im going to switch over all the pulleys and everthing to the new engine and it should be fine then... im going to buy a new waterpump so ill just get a waterpump made for a 77 cutlass supreme with ac and i should be perfect correct

Functionally you should be great. The date code and part number on the new water pump may or may not match (and may or may not be important to you).

Yes, ASSUMING the listing that the parts store has is correct...

Don't be surprised if it is not.

Get the water pump that is specified for the engine that all of the pulleys and brackets came from.

That's what he said he was going to do in his post above. My point is that I've found that many vendors' catalog listings can be incorrect. It helps to know the actual height of the pump you want to avoid problems. You'll find many posts on this forum where people who swore they had a bracket issue actually had been given the wrong pump by the parts store.

so what should i do i have the waterpump that came off my engine should i take it down to the parts store and compare the one they have?

That's the best way, either that or measure its height (accurately).

I bring the old part to the auto parts store whenever I can - every now and then, it saves me a lot of trouble.
