69 Cutlass Supreme

Back in 1978 I had a 69 Cutlass Supreme. With the car only being 9-10 years old and the condition of the paint, I believe it to be original paint, but don't know for certain. It was Palomino Gold above and silver-ish below the Supreme trim. I have seen several that were uniform color above and below the trim and they always look odd to me. Maybe that's just because I was used to mine. The ones I've seen uniform were definitely old enough that they probably had been repainted at some point in their lives. So my question is were all 68/69 Supremes two tone or was that just an option?

All 1968-69 Supremes had the silver lower panel below the trim. The ones you see that are all one color have been repainted incorrectly.

Great info. Thanks Joe. Wish I still had that car. It wasn't a show car and it wasn't pretty either. It looked like any other 10 year old car that had been kept outside in the midwest. It had a great look though. Palomino Gold, black vinyl roof and of course the silver below the trim. I put Appliance Wire Mag wheels on it. It looked great to a 16 year old.
