Next week, I am having a local shop make me a 2.25" dual exhaust for my 67 Cutlass Holiday Coupe. I'm looking for input (with photos) of how you have your tail pipes finished off. Do you have a straight cut or a 45 (I'm not sure if that's the exact angle, just throwing out a number here)? Do you have them exiting with a turn down and an angle cut (similar to factory) or do you have them exiting straight out and beyond the rear bumper?
My car currently has a single exhaust, exiting out the back but the tail pipe exits almost under the bumper, which makes the bumper show corrosion from the exhaust rolling up it.
My exhaust will exit towards the back of the car, like the single exhaust is.
The muffler shop said that they can do whatever I want, so I'm looking for options. Thx!

If you wouldn't mind measuring, how far beyond the bumper are yours? I like this look. 👌
Glad you like the look, thanks for the compliment. The upper edge of the Chrome tailpipe extends exactly 5-inches beyond the lower edge of the bumper. The Chrome tailpipes are 2&1/2-inch diameter. Good luck!

Thank you for taking the time to measure. I appreciate it!

This is what I ended up with. This Beck quarter photo makes it look like the tips stick way out, but they aren't that bad.
If your happy with it then leave it, I believe I would have the shop that did it to pull the pipes up tighter to the bumper, and cut the pipes off an inch to inch and a half. They should easily do that for you.

I just got it back today and had to run back to work after I took the car home, so I'm going to see if I like it as I get used to seeing it this way vs the tucked in single exhaust that was on it.
One of my upcoming projects is to get tailpipes back on. Current plan is to slash cut the Pypes 3" to match the factory angle and make a polished trim ring. I'll post a pic when/if I get it done.
The more I looked at the tips on my car, the less I liked them. I purchased a different set this week and hopefully I'll get some garage time this weekend and get them swapped out. Then I'll post a couple of pics of the new tips.
I have a 67 CS convertible. When I first replaced the stock 330 with a C headed 455 the exhaust was built around that configuration. The exhaust starts with Pypes down pipes to a Borla X cross over. The mufflers are Hooker Aero-chambers to Flowmaster mandrel bend ‘over-axles’ to Classic Chambered Exhaust short Powerstick as resonators all in 2.5” In 1967 they came from the factory with resonators at the exhaust tip and I wanted to stick to that theme. With this set up and X-pipe I still had drone. After install at the exhaust tips the drone went away. My goal was a performance exhaust but quiet enough when the top is down.
I finally got around to changing out the tips, and I'm much happier with the angle tips.
The top photo was taken at a bad angle and makes the pencil tips look like wheelbarrow handles. LOL
The middle photo shows the new angle tip on the right and the left tip is the pencil tip.
The last photo shows the new angle tips.

Here's my last ask, as I'm getting close. My intended angle of the slash cut has been altered from factory 55⁰ to readily available online tip that's 70⁰.
My main question is where the tips land. Is this correct with the outlet centered between the bumper bolt heads and the taillight bezel?
Ha! That lens really exaggerates it. Cool, I'm going to smash the SEND button. Thanks
See here mine are not quite perfectly centered side to side but this is where everything landed with not much adjusting available, they are acceptable.
Mine is a little less traditional. I took a cue from my Ram 1500 exhaust and made cutouts in the bumper. They're a little raw at the moment but plan to smooth them out as work on the car progresses.
