Thanks GA. Debating whether to take on ANOTHER project. Still have two nowhere close to complete but, the price is right.

Of course the car is silver with a white gut, black vinyl top and black W30 stripes. Restoring to original will mean a new top as well as a paint. Solid body and great interior.

Anyway I can find out what the original stripes were from cowl tag?

sounds like a nice car - I wouldn't worry too much about originality, enjoy it and use as is for a while. I have never seen a cowl tag from that era on an Oldsmobile depict what color the stripes were, not sure I have even seen a broadcast card with that info though maybe I just don't know how to decode it. I do have an original PO that mentions stripe color though

i know this is an old thread but wondering if Code " A " on the cowl tag could be white accent strip instead of A = White Vinyl Top

No, accent colors are not called out on the tag, this info is in the assembly manual and the service manual

Thank you for the response , This guy with a 72 says his car never had a white vinyl top, but the cowl tag disputes that then.
