1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass Rear Deck Lid with Luggage Rack

Hey Folks
I've got a deck lid from a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass. It is the original deck lid and came with the luggage rack option. I have been attemting to find one like it and I cannot seem to find any images.

I am attempting to figure out its rarity and value. If anyone has any links or can give me a ball park range, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance for the help.

That's a W-67 Spoiler

:-)

It "spoils" the look of the car!

But seriously, have never seen that, presumably aftermarket generic

Got one on my '69 car and tihink it's OK on a convertible. A little different from yours but both defintely aftermarket or dealer installed accessory. Would probably remove it if I ever paint.

As noted, there was no "luggage rack option" for 1970 (except on the wagons), so you won't find pictures of it. It was not uncommon for dealers or trim shops to install these aftermarket racks.

Thanks for the replies.

This rack was a dealer installed option, from what I've been told.

Does this add any sort of value, only becase its actually from 1970 and not some reproduction from 2015? And it seems that they are pretty rare.

Yeah, negative value.

Sorry, but the holes in the original trunklid hurt the most. These were not uncommon in the 60s and 70s. They are rare today because they are not attractive and no one wants them.

It does appear to me to be a convertible/4-door deck lid in good condition, even with the luggage rack and its offending holes, might be worth $300.

FYI, that is not a 1970 deck lid - it is a 71 or 72 and likely from a Supreme. The key is the O-L-D-S-M-O-B-I-L-E lettering across the lower edge, which was used on 1971 and 1972 Supremes. In1970 there was a Cutlass script on the lower right and a rocket emblem around the key hole. 442s had the 4-4-2 numbers on the lower right. The 4 door cars had a single trim across the lower edge. There may be other variations that I can't remember as well.
