1970 olds cowl tag

hi everyone

I just started working on my olds and i'm a little curious to what the original options were.
Cowl tag reads

TR 940 55 55 PNT
06A 431221 870042

For a little more detail...

ST 70 = style/model year = 1970

33678: something is a bit wrong here...should it be 33687? That would decode to...

3 = GM division = Oldsmobile
36 = model series = Cutlass V8
87 = body type = holiday coupe (77 would be sports coupe)

BF = assembly plant = Fremont CA

10873 BDY = Fisher body number (has no relationship to your VIN)

TR 940 = interior color and front seat type = black interior with a bench seat

55 55 PNT = lower and upper body colors = galleon gold for both

06A = time build code = June (06), first week of that month (A), 1970

As I recall, the other numbers are specific to the assembly plant at Fremont and no one seems to have a break for those code numbers.

Your VIN should look like 336870Z------ if you do indeed have a holiday coupe. the dashes simply indicate the 6-digit plant sequential number.

70 = model year 1970
3 = Oldsmobile
42 = Cutlass Supreme V-8
67 = convertible
LAN = Lansing assembly plant (sequence number 273574)
TR 990 = black vinyl bench seat
PNT 14 = platinum lower body color
PNT B = black convertible top
10E = built 5th week of October 1969

About the only things you couldn't tell by just looking at the car are the build date and the assembly plant.

Thank you! It's not platinum today. Many factory-available options installed too.

Thank you.

Numerous OEM factory options added, like tilt & sport wheel, 4-way power sport bench seat, dual exhaust with trumpets & cut-out bumper, W-27 differential cover (this was a dealer-only available option), Rally Pac, rear sport suspension sway bar (dealer option), Super Stock II wheels, sport mirrors, convenience group lamps (trunk, underhood, glove compartment, inside rear-view mirror with map lamp), power trunk lid latch, and a custom mod - OEM W-31 aluminum intake manifold. (Cam is mildly performance tuned.) (To do: change axle gear ratio and add anti-spin).
