1970 Console shifter

I just recently viewed a thread that said the console shifters in the 70-72 are different. Is this true? And is there anywhere to get parts to rebuild shifters?

71-72 are the same. 70 will work in a 71-72 but it has the neutral safety switch on it and the harnesses are diferant for 70. after installed they all look the same.

What parts do you need?

I was wondering why my 72 Cutlass was missing the neutral safety switch. Thanks

the 67-70 auto floor shifter uses the NSS on the shifter the 71-72 uses the NSS on the column, the 70-72 uses the same console.

the shifter mounting base is different but similar, the actual chrome shift arm 70-72 is the same

I haved two floor shifters, complete, both are 1971-72 models. I'll let one em go for $100.00 each, plus shipping. Your base and the 1971-72 handle from one of these and your set.
