Probably little sleep tonight forest fire across the canyon.

The tankers are bombing the hell out of it as I type and it looks as if it is taking effect. Looks to be about a mile and a half away but downhill from my house which is bothersome as fire will move faster up hill than downhill . The good is the wind has slowed some, the bad is it's still blowing towards the house. A helicopter has flown in and I'm thinking they dropped off a crew so hopefully they get a hand on it before it gets dark..... I didn't need this at this time...... Tedd

You don't need that at any time. I remember not too long ago you posted pictures of fires in your area. Hopefully they get it under control very soon.

That fire was about 1/2 mile from this one and that one I was told was set by a arsonist. Go figure..... Tedd

Tedd,
Let's hope your place doesn't change it's name to Burnt Forest Ranch!
Sounds like your area is dry as a bone and water is in great demand.
Good Luck and stay safe.

Just in the last 20-30 minutes the smoke has decreased quite a bit, if the wind doesn't pick up we may be OK. This area is tender dry no rain to speak of for months ... Tedd

All is good

Fire is out and everything is good. According to the paper it was quickly contained and only burnt less than a acre.Good thing because it started in a very remote unusually steep area. Yesterday was the first day of deer season could have been someones smoking or hot exhaust in the dry grass. This area is a bomb ready to explode it is so dry.... Tedd

If you go North west of California (Organ Coast) in October You might throw that rain gear in the trunk you could very well need it. I hear it may be a El Nino this year.... We sure need it....Tedd

Yes I will be at my property south of Gold Beach doing some work and just relaxing. Now just watch me bring the monsoon rains with me...
