Thumbs up Painting of your car

My Dad celebrated his 50th birthday last week and my uncle, who is a very passionate artist told me to send him a picture of my Dad's favorite car, so that he can make a painting of it and give it to him as a birthday present.

Well I sent him a picture of the 1955 Studebaker truck! ...you can see the original photo and the outcome in the pictures below. (the pics don't live up to the original)
I don't know if it can be seen in the pictures, but before he applies the paint, he cuts a structure into the wooden panel, giving it an extra 3D-effect.

I liked it so much, that I thought I'd share this with you, just in case anybody is interested in getting one of those paintings of his/her own car.
He can do it in different sizes as well...

Please feel free to ask questions if you have any and to contact me if you're interested, I will be glad to pass it on to him

Thanks for reading, Dan

Thanks for all the compliments, he will be glad to hear what you say about his work

The charge depends on the size...This one is approximately 20" wide(height depends on the picture he gets as reference) and he said he would've charged $260-300. I know thats not cheap, but considering it takes 6+ hours to make one of those unique paintings, it's well worth it IMHO

That is a very nice painting!
You can do these kind of "paintings" with photoshopping applications BUT they will never be as cool as real artist-made paintings. Nice work and great gift!
