Fire

As some of you may have heard, the small town of Slave Lake, Alberta (7500) was partially destroyed by a forest fire. No one died but many lost everything. The downtown was destroyed as were many homes. There were even a few old cars destroyed. One of our members was working up there and sent me this email...

Hi Ken,
I spent a few days in Slave Lake the week after the fire. We were shutting the water services to the burned houses and buildings. We saw a lot of burned out car and truck husks, quite a few classics. I found this Cutlass project which will probably end up as scrap. The Malibu was a 4spd. console car that looked like it had been restored. A lot of dreams were shattered but fortunately there were no lives lost during the fire itself.

George

Sad pics for sure...
Glad everyone lived to tell about it and sure hope they all had good insurance.
Those wild fires live up to their name!

Oh Ken, that's horrible! Thankful no one was killed, for sure! You just never know what nature is going to throw out at any time. I'll bet the car owners are heartbroken.

It's strange to see that one side of the street was spared and the otherside not. I've also seen that with tornado's.
