car hunting

I was curious to know whether there are people or companies out there that will do all the hunting and looking for a specific car?Ive been thinking for a while on selling and or trading all of my cars to get just one. It's getting to be all work and no play . i just don't have the time or inclination to do this all by myself .If anyone knows of such company let me know .thanks

Companies that do this sort of thing advertise in Hemmings, Old Cars, and other places. Keep in mind that they likely are only interested in high-quality vehicles with some collector interest. I have never dealt with these companies or anything like them, but if I were in your shoes and had such a question, I'd probably call them and ask. The worst they can do is say no.

If they are classics you can start selling on bring a trailer..it’s fairly straight forward. There are folks who will sell your cars on bring a trailer, the simply are selling reps. They have to accept the and the pricing. Another option is put them in a consignment classic car dealership.
Tell us what you have, it would be easier to give advice on the models..

If you find a car that catches your eye you could always inquire about it and see if the dealer might do a trade.

In terms of disposing of the cars you have now, depending on what you have and their condition, your best bet may be a large well-attended auction.

As for getting a new one, you can just haunt the usual places -- BAT, Hemmings and other reputable outlets. Auctions are usually better for selling than buying, but deals can still be had. When acquiring a new car, I have always found the hunt to be the best part.

As I noted in another thread however, we are embarking on a financially uncertain path in our history. You might want to hold off on a purchase -- these cars could get significantly cheaper in a big hurry.

Well one idea I used in the past is if you found something of interest, there could a chance someone you know lives in that area. Talk to you friend go over things and for maybe a gift card or whatever ask him if he would go look at it for and take pictures etc. At least you have comfort in knowing the car is real and not a scam..
