Bench seat, with aftermarket shifter
Bench seat, with aftermarket shifter
My son and I are getting close to being ready for interior work on Project Olds-Camino.
Right now, we plan to use a TH400 that we built out of spare parts. Not to far in the future plans will be a 4L80 swap. Which brings up the shifter debate.
We plan to keep the bench seat. Right now, we plan to use the column shifter. The 4L80 swap will most likely involve s Hurst Quarter stick or some other aftermarket shifters.
Anybody in readerland have a bench seat car with a aftermarket shifter that could post some pics? My son would like to see some cars equipped this way to help him decide which way to go.

I’ve seen it done a few ways.
1. build a raised platform that brings the shifter up to above bench level.
2. get a shifter like this that mimics a manual. There are a few of them out there.
But I have no idea how reverse lock out would work as I don’t see any gates. Lobar makes one as well.
