Local legends

Got word today that one of my old street racing nemeses passed after a long battle with cancer.

Her brother built her a 73 Nova that all of us high school speed freaks hated to see coming. Not only was the car quick, she was a damn good driver and a good sport. She simply loved racing whether she won or lost. But if she lost, she would hunt you down for a best 2 of 3.

She often told me my 66 442 and Timmy Dunn's 69 Roadrunner were her favorite cars to race since we didn't get pissed if we lost to that blue Nova- we'd just come back next weekend.

RIP Debra Tuck "Big Red". What else could you call a 5'11" girl with a mane of flaming red hair?

Peace to her. Peace to her family. Peace to you.
Really is there anything cooler than a girl that can handle horsepower?
Thanks for sharing. May we all say a prayer.
