Cool Damn hot summer in South Oz

So we just endured two weeks with temps of 40+ Celsius, 104+ F, with 10-15% humidity or less. Average overnight temps dropped to a cool 30C 86F.
The hottest was last Thursday when it rose to 47C 116.6F and that's in the city, country temps hit 49.5C 121F.
Cool change today a glorious 26C 78.8F.
Back into the 30'sC tomorrow building up again next week.
So warm last Thursday our aircon at home struggled to keep the house under 28C or 82F. (47C outside). Solid brick construction so after a few days in the 40's the house itself is hot and radiates heat at night, it never actually cools down. Too hot to even walk into the garage or my sheds. Uncomfortable to be out in the direct sun.
Maybe I'm just getting old...

I guess most of the US is in winter atm.

You just described a typical summer in Phoenix. We have those temperatures for 4-5 months every year.

A few years ago OK had temps over 100* for about 40 days straight in the summer. My wife always keeps the AC cranked down to about 68* or 70*.

This is unusual but for the last 4 days I've been running around in the Miata with the top down, no coat just the heater on full blast, quite enjoyable. Temp is in the high 60's low 50's at night. The monsoons are reported to come back starting Thursday. That's in North Eastern California.... Tedd
