Who's gonna post 30,000 first
#3
Said a man with 913 posts. Gees man it's the clubhouse and for fun. I won't live long enough to see my 30,000 post. Just think of all the knowledge that has been passed on to achieve that many posts, and the pay sucks also..... Lost somewhere in the fifties... Tedd

I suppose it could be me if I had too much time on my hands. But most of the posts wouldn't be worth reading.
However Joe and (other) Eric and nearly all with a high post count normally have something relevant and sensible to say. It should be noted that some infrequent posters also often have something worth saying when they take the trouble to take to the keyboard.
It's the quality, not the quantity that matters.
Roger.

I am also on a TriFive Chevy site since I have a 57 Chevy I am going to restore (another story). There is a guy on there that just passed 60,000 posts. I think he is a nice guy but responds to every post on the board. He has too much time I think.

Can't say anuf good things about (other) Eric here on CO!
I agree, always the first to welcome newbies and helps out so much here with photo's to assist in trouble shooting.
Joe P , provides in depth info with photo's as he sees fit as well.
Saving us $$ over the years !
These guys have taken many, many hours out of their daily lives to make this site the best place on the web.
I can't thank them enough!!

This thread motivated me to check member stats.
We have just under 43,000 members. About 22,300 of them (over half!) have exactly zero posts. Another 4,500 members have made a single post. About 190 members have made at least 1,000 posts. Nine of us (who apparently have too much time on our hands) each have made at least 10,000 posts.

I resemble this remark. I do enjoy talkin about cars in general on this site with all the wonderful people. It's so much fun I'd gladly forgo my salary and actually do it for free... Oh wait

Ouch! I am #10... I think nearly half of mine are from selling parts for 6 years. I am on the net less these days and the time I am on I am on Facebook to much. I hate that so much of the Oldsmobile stuff has shifted there. I am just as guilty myself. I sit most of the day at work now and get home and got in a bad habit of sitting there on the computer also. I have to get myself back into shape

That data table doesn't tell the whole story. It's interesting enough to see who has the most posts, second-most, etc., but that doesn't take into account how long the member has been a member. What's more interesting is the RATE of postings on this site. How many per day since joining?
Well, because we have spreadsheets and such, I went ahead and made a few tables. All of these use 6/28/18 as the current date.
First off is a listing that repeats what the table on CO says. I just did the top 20 because one could really go to town on this if one wanted to.
I've noted who are the moderators because we're going to deal with them in a moment. Note also one user, cutlassgal, who passed away a few years ago and last posted in April 2015. She had so many posts while she was active that she's still on this list, three years later.
Now we sort the above list by posts per day. I removed cutlassgal from this and the later lists.
Now, it occurred to me that including the moderators is really not fair because their JOB is to monitor this site and respond. So they're naturally going to have a large number of posts. What's more interesting is, who are the top 20 regular users. Who are the average joes (or janes) who have nothing better to do than sit around on this site and dispense their wisdom (or make charts like these).
So here's that list, first sorted just by number of posts.

I think this is a good time to thank all the Moderators and those people who dispense helpful information. They deserve a huge THANK YOU.
While I have only been on here a very short time, I READ lots of posts and learn something most days. Correct information is what a large majority of people come to this site for.
THANK YOU !!!!!!!

Well here's one way around the W36 stripe issue Note the placement of the 442 numerals...
And, the ever popular wrong approach to set off some folks....
No one, and I mean NO ONE should ever remove this from their 71/72 car....
Ok, I gotta run. I mean duck for cover....
