Stuff happens thread

Well I was feeling ambitious today and was going to go to the auto parts store and buy an air cleaner, fuel filter, Holley bowl gaskets, and some other stuff I've been meaning to do on the Cutlass. Went to open the door and heard a loud pop, looked up and saw the garage door spring broke. Called the door guy and he can't make it out until around 5. Guess now I'll just take a nap <sigh>.

I know exactly how you feel. Lately every project I try to take on ends up in a frustrating chain of things that go wrong until I'm lucky if I can remember what I started out to do in the first place.

I chalk it up to getting old.

I can beat that standing on my head
My wife calls me and says she heard a bang from the garage. I come home to this. Beams look fine but sheetrock let go.

I had the same problem. Its a good thing I had a safety cable routed through the spring so that it wont fall onto my car. And my car wasnt covered because I was lazy. The following year, I use my tax return to get a whole new garage doors.

Hell, I have had a busted spring on one of my doors for 15 years. We're selling that house soon and the garage should probably be knocked down.

Alright, $145 later and the gay-rage door is fixed. As luck would have it he didn't have 1 big spring so I got 2 springs for the price of one. Off to the parts store in the morning'ish.
