Rough stretch
Rough stretch
Well gang. I am not here to cry on anyone's shoulder! But damn!!

Three weeks ago we put one my first cousins in the ground.
This week my step-grandmother past away Monday (we knew this was coming)
Then again today a guy I worked with for ten years (retired a few years ago) was found passed out this morning and rushed to the hospital, he did not make it. He was sitting at my desk two weeks ago talking about nothing! Great guy to boot always had good things to say about everybody.
Again today my wife text me about one of our mutual friends husband is at the hospital and coming home to die. Has multiple organ failures, a matter of days!
Sad thing is that I don't consider myself as old, mid 40's ish

They start to go. You lose someone in high school, maybe someone else in college, then a few in your 20s, some in your 30s, then it keeps going. My dad has lost many of his friends and is 71, and my grandmother, who made 100, had no friends who were not at least 20 years younger the last 15 years of her life.
Even if you and yours do everything right, you can still go tomorrow. Try to make the days count, and remember those that have gone; pray for their souls if you're inclined.

No one promised you tomorrow. Mend your fences and get right with Jesus. I woke about two years ago to find I needed emergency surgery. I made it. Still here. Sorry about your losses. Enjoy life and harbor no grudges. It ain't worth it. Keep your chins up.
it started for me at around 48..ive lost so many people in the last 4 years, an outsider would say i am cursed...and at times i feel that way..recently a good buddy was murdered in a craigslist deal gone bad..he was ambushed, for a few 100 bucks 2 low lives stole his life
as i was grieving..a friend said this to me, and it helped..
old age is a privilege, not promised to anyone...you live in NOW...not yesterday, not tomorrow...live it and appreciate whats real and important, and the rest of your burdens will fall away.... the one constant is change..people will drift thru your life like fireflies in a July sky...appreciate and remember them..because their light is going to fade...you just need to appreciate your time together...because you are destined to fade too..so...be the best human being you can be..and make a difference in someone else's life..because others memories are what make us immortal...
maybe you can find some peace in this.
.i dunno..hes the biggest goofball ive ever met..and for one instance his light really shined....for me anyway..i needed it.

i dunno where it came from..because hes a goofy guy..he believes in aliens..when planes fly over, the contrail is mind control, big brother is watching..9/11 was an inside job etc..but he was brilliant just once...so brilliant i wrote it down before i forgot it...
and at that exact moment..i needed something, i couldnt understand why things where so bad, and he said exactly what i needed..the relief was instant..

The pastor at my cousins ceremony had a few good and poignant thoughts!
"you look at someones obituary and you see a beginning date with a dash and then and end date"
"two things, nobody has an expiration date or know what day it will happen"
"2nd is that we concentrate on the beginning and the end dates! The dash is the most important, and it is what you do with the dash"
Very well said!

Sorry to hear about your losses. I myself have lost all my childhood best buddy's. I had three. I have one best buddy now i met 20 years ago. I am 60 years young. He is not only my friend but we drag race together. Sometimes we work on cars together. He has a key to my garage and i have his. He can use anything i have in my garage. I helped him build his all steel 40X60 garage.
WITH rue my heart is laden
For golden friends I had,
For many a rose-lipt maiden
And many a lightfoot lad.
By brooks too broad for leaping
The lightfoot boys are laid;
The rose-lipt girls are sleeping
In fields where roses fade.

Sorry for your losses, but we live each day without a promise of tomorrow. So be the best person you can be each and every day,and give thanks for the friends and loved ones that you have. I am not sure anyone tells his friends and loved ones ,just how much they mean to us,so let's make that a practice. Larry
