Whats in your...garage?
What kind of sound system do you have next to your classic Olds? I found my old Pioneer SX-780 still in the box and have four speakers with a Pioneer 8 track player. The 8 track is a quadraphonic Pioneer system. Anyone else have interesting story?

That almosts sounds like one of the Pioneer units in the living room that drives the garage and patio speakers... Garage speakers are vintage late 60's 12" AlNiCo drivers mounted in holes cut right in the ceiling drywall. One is a Zenith, the other I think is a Celestion.
I also have an Altec lansing Powercube speaker system in the garage to quickly connect to my ipod.

I had an old Yamaha receiver that use to wander from station to station unless you hit it with a hammer. When I did my garage makeover, I "borrowed" my kids AM-FM CD boom box (because they got Ipods and docking stations and boom boxes were not cool enough ). However, I do have a surround system with wireless speakers for the TV and DVD player.

Couple old boom boxes lying around for when I need some tunes, but once the renovations are done, i plan on having ceiling mounted (flush) in a few places, some outdoor ones pointing at the backyard areas and a pioneer SX-6 powering the mess.

I have an Imperial Scope combo stereo. You remember the ones with 8 track, phono and cassette player. I think its 40 watts or so. Later on I got some Realistic speakers for it. Still works good even though it was kinda cheezy in its day.
At some point I modified the phono input to work as an auxillary input for a CD player. Its works kinda like a pre-amp so you gotta be careful how much volume you try to dial in.
If I remember correctly, my folks got it at a rummage sale for 40 bucks when I was in high school.
I don't know what I'd do if I had to replace it but it would'nt break my heart, its had a good long run. (knocks on wood)

My neighbor has the 300W Yamaha system in the garage and some little tinny-sounding setup in the house for the wife's chick flicks. He stands by his belief that a man's garage is his castle!

I keep my gear covered when not in use and in a clean area, I move it inside during the winter to avoid condensation. My basement shop stereo consists of a restored McIntosh MX110 tubed pre/tuner and a McIntosh tube amp. One of my other hobbies is collecting and restoring vintage audio gear, mostly vacuum tube gear. I use my basement mostly for the construction of model radio controlled battleships. My car hobby is nice spring/summer/fall hobby as I am outside or have the garage door open. The receiver takes about 20 seconds to begin to put out music, often Blue Oyster Cult.
I have seen pictures of some very nice hi end systems set up in garages posted on the net, especially in parts of the country where homes don’t have basements.

No tunes in my garage except a 71 olds 350 with 2.5 inch 40 series flowmasters through trumpet tips.
On a serious note,I do have my old Scott reciever and Technics speakers from high school. Maybe I should put up some shelves to hold the sound equipment and bring music to my garage.

Back in the early 70's, when I was in junior high, I had a Curtis Mathis tube radio that I bought second hand form a local appliance store...I used to be able to pick up WABC in N.Y. at night. Sold it to a buddy, who sold it at a yard sale years later. I go on ebay every once in awhile to see if i can find one like it, but have had no luck.
