If you were a car designer what car would you have designed differently and what changes would you have made? As an example, the Ford Crown Victoria from the 90's and later was quite the workhorse as family movers, police cars and taxis. I've heard that Ford prototyped these as a two door convertible. It probably would sold fairly well particularly with a performance package and appearance.
I will comment on one system, which is rear access and spare tires and ventilation on SUVs. It seems that very few SUVs can store the tire without sacrificing interior space AND make the tire not in the way on the back AND provide ventilation while driving.
80s/90s Ford Bronco had great ventilation with the window cracked, and the tire was not in the truck, but it was in the way to get in there, every time. I have shot a couple deer off a swung Bronco tire rest, though. The window got real dusty and went into the mechanism.
90s K5 Blazer had the tire inside, and no ventilation, but the lift lid above the gate worked well.
Wrangler now uses a swing gate with the tire on it and adequately suspended, the roof lid comes down first.
The issue, with a rear seat floor pan and short length, there is not much room for tire underneath, or, really, anywhere. Pickups are much better for this, as the long flat bed gives you much room underneath for the tire.
My ideal solution would be a lift gate with a power window internal as well for ventilation, but that doesn't have to be moved to open the gate, and the tire underneath with a very specifically designed fuel tank to make it all fit.
If we're talking Oldsmobile, they should have designed the 98 and 88 after the 91-96 Chevy Caprice and Impala SS. How cool would a 96 Oldsmobile Super 88 be?
As far as modern cars/daily drivers are concerned GM and Ford should have never designed those joint 10R80 and 10R140 transmissions. They're POS'.
Non Olds. Miata in 89, should have come out with an extra100+ hp engine and increased it in every style change. It would have been a Cobra killer that would handle...Tedd

-Same for the 68 SS427 (not an Impala). That body style should have gone through 72
-68-70 Charger should have carried through to 74.
-Concealed head lights on the 68-69 Cutlass/442/HO
-Concealed headlights on the 65-67 Impalas and SS427s **** concealed headlights are just plain sexy. If I was Leno I have one of every car manufactured from 65-71 with the option. Ford Pontiac Merc Chrysler et al. Dad had a 69 Country Squire with concealed lamps.

Actually, a good buddy here in Vegas has a B-5 Blue 1971.
Tesla's Cyber Truck. Better weatherstripping would have been good.
A report came out saying that buyers were complaining that when they took the truck to a car wash, it would shut down. Tesla's response...They installed an update to the truck's system called "Car Wash Mode". Now Tesla says that if you do not put it in "Car Wash Mode" before cleaning it, any damages will not be covered by the warranty.
So, is Elon actually selling a truck that dies when it gets wet? That makes sense.
