weird tool - what is it for?

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...&1412533916967

Not the 1/4" drive socket, the other thing
1/4 hex shank, 90' bend, then 1/4 socket drive end

What possible purpose can this have?

Bought via Grainger I think

It's as simple as it looks. It is a right angle adapter for small socket set without a ratchet. Comes with a handle like a screwdriver to use staight with various sockets, driver bits, etc. Use the RA adapter for added leverage.

May be a hex head designed for different leverage sources. One could put various length 1/4" extensions on it as the lever.

Snap-on makes a ratchet head in a similar fashion. It is flat without a handle, 3-4 inches long, and a 3/8" extension of any length may be put into to vary the leverage and its ability to fit into limited access places.

It is just what it looks like it is. I had one and it works so good for hard to get at small screws, like under the dash, where you can't see, or get a ratchet on the screw, because of no room. It gives you some leverage. I had a complete small socket set with one in it. I lost it years ago, and have not found another one. Would like to hind another one.

Looks to me like someone put a 1/4 drive drill adapter in a vice, heated it and bent it.
