Vacation postponed

Well I am fortunate that my family and I are still healthy! I hope you that all of you are as well!

As the tittle states we had to put the brakes on our vacation. The misses was crying because we were supposed to be at the airport as I am writing this morning. Again, we are fortunate that we have been to Maui a few times, but this time we going for whale season, which we have never seen before.

We were terribly fortunate that we had major websites that we booked through and condo also that were able to reschedule for 4 months later without any fees. This was a huge undertaking do to the high volume on cancellations, it took us 18 hrs overall to kill excursions and reservations. And another 10 to re-schedule. All this during my birthday!

Stay safe and healthy!

Pat

Happy B-day! To bad about the vacation, but at least you were able to reschedule, and everyone is safe.

My idiot brother just went through this. He called us last week to say that he and his family just got a really good deal for a Caribbean cruise through Royal Caribbean. At fist we thought that he was joking, he wasn't. Then we started cussing him out. Mainly because his wife just finished 6 months of chemo. and has a compromised immune system. He wouldn't change his mind.

Luckily, Royal Caribbean has more sense than he does and have postponed all of their cruises.

Have one scheduled for first week in May for the Keys. Not sure if we are gonna cancel yet, but with the beaches being closed, might be somewhat quiet. Hard to get s a drink though unless you BYOB.

Pat, that's good news that you were able to cancel your vacation. Hopefully you were able to get 100% of your money back given the COVID 19 scare. Happy birthday BTW!

A month ago I told the wife I wanted to cruise with Royal Caribbean this year. We've cruised Carnival and Disney and I saw that Royal Caribbean was running a "kids sail free" promotion. With all of the COVID 19 nonsense we decided we should wait until the summer to book a cruise, if at all.

Hope you had a LARGE cake...The Muskrat was supposed to go to the Dominican on Fri. or Sat. but Air Transat saved her bacon.

Yes sir! It was. I called the owner direct and had things hashed out within 1.25 days of contact to cancel and re-book. Sad part for him, I asked what dates are open? "my schedule is open from 3-20 through September"

That's great that they cancelled, most of these cases started from these damn cruises! I hate to say this, but I would rather lick a public toilet, than go on cruise.

My poor niece has had to postpone her bridal shower and her wedding. To top it off the house she was buying with her future husband fell through.
things are tough for a lot of people. Hope you get your vacation at a later date and enjoy.
