Angry Trying to start Delta 88 conv't

Car: '71 Delta Royal convertible
Engine: 455
Battery: 3yrs old

Car has been in dry storage fro 4 months.
Hooked battery cables up, tried to start.
Wouldn't turn over, just grunted, dash lights went dim. Turned a little.
Jumped from my DD (VW diesel with new battery) same results.
Brought battery home, put on charge with battery charger.
Charger says battery is fully charged.
Car was running OK before storage.
Never had anything like this happen, ever.
Will take battery back tomorrow and try again.
In the mean-time, any ideas ????

Check the basics, make sure terminals are clean & tight, check ground cable at the head? & make sure it's tight. Grab the lead terminal & the cable itself & see if they are loose? Take another known good battery & see if you get the same result. From your description, it sounds like a bad connection somewhere.
Let us know.

Did all that today, but will do it all again.
Don't think I missed anything though.
Might have been in to much of a hurry, so will give it a slow go tomorrow.
Will report in tomorrow night.
Thanks for the response.

Are you able to turn the engine over by hand?

Smile YAY YAY YAY got it started

Didn't have a good connection with the battery, Redid the terminals and it popped right off on the first try. It's home, in my garage, and resting in great comfort. Thanks for all, who responded with helpful comments.
