Toutch up Paint
Toutch up Paint
Did a stupid thing putting my car away after a car show. Scrapped the mirror, and garage door jam also. I was so upset with my careless action. Any way found a company,66 Auto Color. They will mix your car color and put it in a spray can, great I thought. I ordered the single stage. Came in a couple days. It has two spray buttons, regular type, and a big red button on the bottom. When you use it, your suppose to push it all the way in till even with the bottom. I pushed very hard and long, never did get quite even with the bottom. Sprayed mirror, and worked great. The problem is, it is still a little stickey, must have not got all the hardner in? Not sure if it will dry with time? I have mixed regular paint, and did not get the right amount, just took longer time to dry. I tried to contact the company, and ask if I did something wrong, or if I had a bad can of paint? no answer. Anyone use this paint, and had same problem?

Humidity was low, as I live in Cal, 15-20 percent. I did just what you said and the instructions said. Did the red button go in easy, or hardly move when you did it? It is getting better, maybe it will cure, I hope? Thanks
The red button pushed in very easily. Did your prep
the mirror before painting? I hope your paint job comes out good. It will suck if you had to do it all over again. That happened to me when a stupid fly landed on my sport mirror when it wiggle all over the top trying to fly away

Yes I prep it sanded it down and then primed it. That was my main question, that the button did not push in all the way, and hard to push. Tried to push it again yesterday, same thing, also paint still comes out. I hate to do it again also, not cheap for spray can, but I'm sure cheaper than a shop.
Just a follow up to my paint problem, in case someone has same problem. I called the company, and they were not much help. They said they have sold lots of cans and never had anyone have my problem, and kind of just repeated their instructions they sent with paint. Push the red button all the way in at the bottom, and shake and spray. I'm a strong guy, and it did not work. I don't give up easy, stripped it back down, and primed. Then a I took a bar clamp, and slowly screwed it in, and finally it made a pop, and went in easy all the way. Shook it up, and sprayed it, and looks like it is working. Just thought someone else may have the same problem, may help them. I have to say it is a nice option to have for small paint problems
