Tony is Back! Hows everyone doing?

Dear All,

After a long awaited trip around the globe and working overseas, i've dusted off my cutlass and started a new adventure in beautiful Halifax Nova Scotia.

The Cutlass fired right up after an oil change, new plugs, transmission fluid, differential fluid and a bit of TLC and is back on the road.

Hope you've all been well,

-Tony

Cutlass on the way to halifax from Montreal, 1300km and goes knows how many gallons of fuel.

I'd wondered where you'd gotten to.

It's been a busy couple years! Feels good to be back in the drivers seat, got a job out in NS and moved out here last october, just visited home, tuned up the cutlass and brought her down too.

There's nothing quite like a long haul in a classic.

Feels good to be amongst olds people again! i was driving rentals the past 2 years!

Now back to the MAW's i guess.. i have buckets of brand new parts that i've yet to install on the car too. I'm hoping that nothing's changed and i can just resume being rock auto's best customer

Hey Tony! Geez I thought maybe I farted or something.....Welcome back my friend! Missed you. Couple of my other friends asked me if I knew where you went. Gotta give us some warning next time.

I see you rebadged her as a 442. You know what that means right? Yup, lose the rocker stainless, black out the hood louvers and W29 stripes for the hood, side and rear!

At least gas will cost less down in Halifax.

Thanks Al!

I've been slowly working over the winter and giving the cutlass a nice cut and buff. It seems that not alot of oldsmobiles (let alone other cars) survive the salty sea air out here..

When i moved to halifax i got rid of boat loads of old parts i thought i'd never use. Needless to say i lost a set of 4 original fender and quarter panel stainless! I see that tamraz and fusick make reproductions but i'll give the for sale section on here a shot first.

Cheers,

-Tony

Nice to hear from you Tony.

Was just watching "Titanic" last night. I'd like to go to Halifax see the memorial.

Halifax is all about the sea-faring lifestyle. Lots of ships, yachts and memorials for those lost at sea. Aside from that everyone is quite friendly but I can't seem to find a good classic car club, most kids around here drive 1990's BMW's and think they're cool

Welcome to Halifax Tony, it will be good to have another Olds in town. There are a few get togethers each week, one being the Chickenburger in Bedford on Tuesday nights and the A&W in Woodside (Dartmouth) on Thursday evenings. I'll be bringing my 71 442 to the Chickenburger for its inaugural visit this coming Tuesday or the next depending on my schedule and weather.
There are actually several Cutlasses that show up most nights. Hope to meet you soon.

It has indeed! Just about 4 years since i was able to work on my cutlass. I had her in storage near Truro in Nova Scotia while i was working in the states and europe.

I just bought my first home and have a garage (albeit quite small) but at least i have a warm floor to get some work done!

It's raining cats and dogs out here today.. big surprise for the Maritimes lol

Good news is I got my wiper motor working, turns out you can completely tear them apart and clean all the contacts. After 40 years of use i would have thought the brushes would have been worn to a crisp, I should do a rebuild thread once i buy a new camera.

I've got 4 of the darn things rattling about in the trunk. If I only had the time .. or the boss would let me tear them apart on my lab bench during lunch.
