A terribly sad day at the Robinson house

It's with heavy heart and tears in our eyes the passing of our beloved freind and family member Bun Bun the Oldsmobile bunny.

Oh man....Sorry to hear about that. Everyone here is right, pets are family. We had our cat put down a couple years ago and I was blubbering like a baby at the vets when they gave her the shot. It is hard because they become such a part of our lives and our routines. We waited a few months and rescued another kitty named Bella and we love her as much as we did Amber. Our condolences to you guys.

Im sorry too, I know the feeling. I just lost one of my minature Daschunds after 14 years. She died over the Thanksgiving holiday. She was such a sweet dog! My wife was hysterical, we both cried. We were just pulling out of the Vet parking lot, after seeing the Vet. Lacy, the dog walked from my wifes lap to her bed in the car, and died. So sad we miss her alot!

Thanks again! Past two mornings have been tear filled. Went to work and gym yesterday to keep my mind off of it. It helped a little.

Amen to the beautiful rabbit. We have him out in the yard during most decent or good weather and we live in small city. People when they meet him always say "that's cutest bunny I have ever seen" This is picture is truly him...
I am sorry if anyone thinks I am dragging this thread out. But this is my tribute to him and my own therapy!!!!!

Pat we all deal with grief and loss in our own ways. You certainly don't need to apologize [IMO].

So true, he was my wife and I first ever bunny. We had a hell of a learning curve understanding how to care for him. Special bedding for his allergy to pine shavings and it took over two years of giving him the wrong food mix, we finally took the vet's advice and give him pellet diet only no mixed in corn, sunflower seeds. He only ate the goodies.

I miss so many things he did like if he wanted attention, he would bounce his nose off the bottom of my foot 3 pokes everytime, while I was sitting on the sofa. And the bunny kisses are missed the most.

Hey 1970cs: I'm sorry for your loss. At least, I hope you had a good meal that night. You know what they say... tastes like chicken!

Really! I do and hope that the first part of your statement was heart felt? The second part was very hurtful!:mad

Since I have no kids of my own that little guy was my kid and would do most anything for him. WE DON'T EAT PETS!!

I wasn't offended by the comment about eating the rabbit; maybe it's just the city-slickers.

Man sorry to hear , that sucks . We have a regular zoo here ..... 2 cats , 4 guinea pigs ( don't ask ) , and 2 fish . What really hurts is , both our cats are in the 18yr range , and one of them is getting mangy looking and frail . I'm not looking forward to what's coming .

Yeah, but you weren't the one who lost a family friend.

I hate rabbits myself, almost as much as they hate me (I was attacked by the one we had on many occasions, not to mention the carefully placed pee pee mines...), but I have the deepest sympathy for Pat and his family, and even for his little friend. Just because I don't love the floppy-eared varmints doesn't mean that somebody else can't have one as a wonderful pet.

Farmers love their pets too. I think people on here get way, way over-offended at things.

If you knew me, than you would find that your statements are incorrect! I have worked in Agriculture business for over 20 years. I stand in fields and cow manure/urine in barns to either repair (past job) or make deals on new or used equipment.

Keyword is PET!!!!!

Eric is right our bunny while not perfect, was caring, kind and very intelligent animal he could find ways around barriers that we setup to keep him out of trouble.

I thank all of the well wishers here.

The others, while you are entitled to free speech, I don't think that I would ever make any comments that were deleterious to anyone here on this forum. As wise man once said "put your brain in gear, before you put mouth in gear"

Since I am in the anger mode for the past few days I will not expound on my real feelings.

Regards,
Pat
