Somewhere Back in Time

I was riding through the country yesterday and caught a glimpse of an old truck sitting back in the woods. Naturally I had to go back to investigate. About 100 yards back in the woods I came across this old sawmill. Looked like somebody shoved all the equipment under the shed 40-50 years ago and never came back. Pretty neat stuff in there.

1966 Galaxies 500 vert. No rust through!

Last inspected in 1976

This old White road tractor seemed pretty much intact. Last inspected 1969

Wow, some cool equipment. The old farmers used to put equipment out to pasture like old work horses, a lot of them would not sell any of it. They felt the equipment deserved the retirement and it would just sit there and rot.

Sadly those Farm-All's aren't worth that much at all. They made them so well that theres just so many of them still around.
FYI I'd be leary of banjos when poking around in places like that.

It seems the old tractors are gaining popularity. People buy, restore, and show them down here just like old cars.

Same up here in the Old North State. The thing about this one, if you could have cut that old pine tree out from around the back axle and put some fresh gas to the carb I'll bet you could have driven it out of there. This place was amazing!. That galaxy vert was a very unmolested original with surface rust.

Yes they do around here too.And just like old cars it's real easy to get a lot more in it than it's worth.John deere made a big diesel probably a 2 cyclinder That had to be started with a small gas engine "pony motor" which was started with an electric motor.
