I heard about it this morning. In my opinion, one of the best actors of my generation. He had a talent for flashing a pleasant grin, while the body language suggests serious **** is about to go down. The bar and barbershop scene in Mississippi burning, the “I’m confused” scene from The Quick and the Dead, several in Crimson Tide. And as a Hoosier, of course Hoosiers ranks among the top.
On an unrelated subject, anyone in the Milan Indiana area needs to check out the Milan Miracle museum. Lots of movie props and other interesting things. It’s too bad Hollywood has to add artificial drama to the story.

When he grabs that fella by the nuts in Missisipi Burning, good god I can almost feel it. Of course, Little Bill is unforgettable. Loved Royal. He was truly one of the greats, right there at the top for me.
Authorities say that they could have been dead for as much as two weeks before the were found on a welfare check. It will be interesting to know what the autopsies say. I assume they're doing autopsies and that the results will be released.
Very sad. Unforgiven was a good role as well. We had a close family friend in that movie he was Clyde Ledbetter the guy with one arm. Unfortunately he passed away from throat cancer in 2018.
Gene Hackman was good in every movie he was in, a true gentleman according to any actor or person that knew him.
Poseidon Adventure and of course French Connection. The latter for me makes up part of the troika of car films that locked me to the era forever. Bullitt 1968 and Vanishing Point 1971, complete it.
