Recovering from surgery very well

I am recovering from surgery very well.I was diagnosed with breast cancer in my left breast 3 weeks ago which I was very lucky with.It was caught in the early stages and the surgery was on Monday. My parents and husband were there for support.Doctor said they go it all and the credit goes to me what I did right.I started my monthly breast exams when I was 36 now 38 years old.Felt a lump in my left breast and knew to see my doctor.I see the doctor on Tuesday for a follow up.

Sorry to hear about your surgery at such a young age. Nice to hear you diagnosed it early enough and your recovering well.
Wish you all the best and a speedy recovery.

My wife just got her one year after Mammogram less than a week ago and got a clean bill of health. She was diagnosed a year ago Thanksgiving with a malignant tumor in her left breast. Surgery (lumpectomy), Chemo and Radiation followed even though the Dr. was sure they had taken the whole tumor at surgery. She had regular mammograms and they caught it early.

I know what my wife went through and what we went through as a couple. I'm sorry you had to get that diagnosis and the Holiday Season is a lousy time to hear such news and have the surgery. Please be religious about following up and doing exactly as the doctors instruct. It sounds like you will be fine and good for you that you had checkups and caught it early. Major advances in the treatment of cancers have done wonders but taking charge of your cancer and treatment and not letting it define your life are hugely important to a good outcome too. My wife did all that including sending out email updates to a large list of family and friends on a regular basis and they became like cheerleaders for her. It really helped her morale and kept her spirits up. I am now a big believer in the power of prayer and friendships in fighting illness.

Keep us apprised as you continue. I'd love to celebrate another life saved from breast cancer.
Jerry

My wife had an "It may be cancer" finding a few years ago, with subsequent stereotactic biopsy (lumpectomy, the area still hurts) and a prolonged wait while a subspecialist pathologist broke the tie between the local pathologists regarding malignancy.

She was lucky, but I understand the stress and unhappiness this can cause.
I am delighted that the surgery was successful, and I wish you a speedy, and, if possible, chemo- and radiation-free recovery.

Concentrate on resting and getting stronger, and talk to us when you're back to normal.

And give our warmest wishes to your husband, who ain't had it easy either.

I am so happy to hear the good news. Cancer is such a threat to us all and it is awesome to hear when someone catches it early and beats it before it can take hold.
May God grant you a speedy recovery and I hope you enjoy the holidays.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Good to hear that the doctors caught and treated it early. My aunt had to deal with breast cancer when I was a teenager and has been cancer free for 15+ years.

Glad it was caught early and surgery successful. I often think about Sandy (cutlassgal) who was taken from us by cancer much too soon.

That's good to hear! No treatments needed. Congrats for being so strong, I would be a basket case if my wife were diagnosed with breast cancer. Keep on taking those hugs, that's the best feel good medicine that money just can't buy.
Wish you and your family all the best during the Christmas holidays.
