Reasons to avoid WalMart this time of year
Or I guess you could say any time of year, but it seems to be worse during the Christmas season...
1) Parking lot is full, and if you find a space some lazy bastige has left a shopping cart smack in the middle of it instead of walking 50 steps to put it in the cart rack. Get out to move it and open the space and some other trifling bastige zips into it while you're getting back in your car.
2) You have 10 items or less and get in an express checkout line because the self checkout lines are closed. Someone with WAAAAY more than ten items cuts in front of you and then has to go thru a minimum of three credit cards to find one that's not maxed out.
3) Come out and before you can leave you have to move another cart because some lazy bastige has left it right behind your vehicle, instead of walking 50 steps to put it in the cart rack.
Anyone else have Wally World Christmas season irks?

So do I but sometimes, like last night, it's unavoidable.
Yeah, the world is in a hell of a state, but the post was a commentary on the caliber of people you'll encounter in any WalMart anywhere in the US. Probably the same all over the world really. Selfish, self-absorbed people who do not care how rude they are or who their rudeness inconveniences.
It crossed my mind to surround the car that grabbed my parking space with shopping carts, but I didn't for two reasons: 1) didn't want to stoop to their level, 2) the point would have been completely lost on them anyway.

One really great reason to avoid Walmart - it is the retail arm of the Chinese government.

I havent shopped there in over 4 years.
They treat their employees like crap which in turn they treat their customers like crap.
Agood friend of mine worked there for 6 years and he has tons of crazy stories.
Its not worth it for me to Save big...

I had fun there on Saturday.. the lot was full - as was mentioned. I had my son with me.. as I Drove down the row We spotted an open spot on the next row over . I had my son jump out and go stand there to block the spot.. (did this 2x actually) on the 2nd time he stated someone stopped to try to take the spot but he stood there and got a nice ugly glare by the driver..when I came up to the spot he stood aside and I got me a nice good spot.

And speaking of inconsiderate idiots, my wife parked our P.O.S. 90 Grand Am (relevancy: it has a Quad 4 and I got it for free) in the local WalMart, well away from the building or other cars. Someone hit it anyway (hit and run, naturally), popping the front bumper cover loose. Given that the car is such a turd, I didn't really care, but it's the thought that counts.

We have two newer cars so I always park in the back. When I have my wife's car I'll snap a pic of it sitting by itself & send it to her as a reminder of how to keep a car nice.

There is an old saying (or there should be) "he who obsesses about getting the best parking spot has the dinged up car".
Was your car keyed when you came out? Seems like a lot of trouble for a spot. Just park in the back of the lot & walk.

I don't mind walking from a parking space and normally park out toward the ends of a parking aisle in any parking lot, but when I had taken the time and trouble to move that shopping cart only to have the parking space snagged out from under me before I could get the car into it, that pissed me off bad.
Rude, self-absorbed people.

This time of year is my least favorite. #1, have to put the Cutlass into hibernation. #2, Rudeness, greed and consumerism have taken a time of joy and hope and try to drive that aspect out of it.
The one saving grace is seeing this time frame through the eyes of the kiddos. They are small enough that this is a magical time for them with all the Christmas celebrations.

In my experience Wal-mart is no different than any other place this time of year. And as far as inconsiderate jerks are concerned they are everywhere. My wife had our car hit twice in parking lots of other places, once someone backed into the front of it and broke the grill and the other time someone took the driver side mirror off. I bought a brand new truck last year that has been hit on the tail gate and sideswiped on the driver side back end. I always park in the back of the lot with no one by me too. But I get the point, Wal-mart just seems to be a little more ridiculous than anywhere else.

I'm not sure which is worse by me, Walmart or Toys R Us. The crowds, full parking lots, long register lines, all frustrating.
Unfortunately I find myself going to Wally world more often these days. Around my home, we have lost the grocery store, Sears, auto parts stores (2 of them), and video store all within the last several months. But don't worry, the economy is improving. Not the ideal situation but kind of out of choices around here.

I try to advoid the Anti-American, Anti-Union, Walmart chain as much as I can. I do buy my motor oil there because they are the only place that has the 5 quart jugs, not that 5.1 quart size either.
When I do go, I go BEFORE the 1st or 15th of the month, go during the week, and park in Lowes parking lot next door

If I ever go there, I have 2 very easy tips that I don't know why others haven't thought of it in this area. 1) Park on the side near the oil change place, there's a door to get in to the store as well. 2) since I work at night, I go after I get off work at 6am. EMPTY!
