Quality family time

I sat down as usual 9:00 AM this morning to watch Gilligan island and both kids boy 16 and girl 13 sat down and watched the entire hour with me!

No devices in hand by anyone or encouraged on my part! Not exactly the Waltons, but now days.....

Pat

Good to hear Pat. In a way it was a Waltons moment, just with TV.
Giggling Island? You still watch that? Probably you're in it for Ginger and Marianne

I love Gilligans Island, it takes me back to a time when I didnt have a care in the world. Those were the days, when I could day dream for days.

I think part of the problem in society is the family unit not being forced to gather together. Smaller houses force siblings to share rooms and bathrooms. One tv and no other activities forced families to gather in front of the only entertainment device in the house, share, and discuss what they are watching, including news events.
Maybe I am just getting old.

I have the box set of all five seasons of "Friday Night Lights." I've seen everything already but my boys haven't. We're mid-way through Season 1. Like above... no devices to steal their attention. We're having a great time and they actually ask me every night at dinner if we'll be able to watch another one or two episodes that night.

Want to have great family time?

Eat dinner together every day.

Excellent for bonding and staying in the loop.
