Cool

But how does the driver know which canal to take? I wouldn't know when to zig or when to zag.

That thing would pass my Donzi like it was standing still

Those boats have come a long way in the last few years. That was a man made track and they run a predetermined route. I remember they started that style racing on wild rivers in B.C. and Alberta and N.W. states. It was and is more dangerous on these rivers of course because you have flowing water and rocks and rapids. There was a guy Peter Polkington who owned the Edmonton Oilers had a boat and he and the coach Glenn Sather used to race for fun but had a serious wipe out and destroyed sather's shoulder.
442much being a hockey fan and probably an Oiler's fan should remember this better than me. They are amazing boats in that they can turn on a dime at full speed. The other amazing racers are those mudbog creations. can't believe they can go so fast through a swamp.

had a trip in one but as the co-driver gives directions to the driver I was of no assistance and the owner/driver just chose some random route. We would have been at 1/2 throttle I reckon and the G forces are wicked .
The local guys , when having a meet, get a D9 cat and make a circuit in the gravel banks of the local river.Next fresh washes it away and next time they create another.
Further up country , many are permanent circuits

HOLY CRAP! That would surely make me s#!$ my pants. Would probably have to double up on the depends and have few spares. Guess that's no relaxing fishing trip with a cooler of beer.

That is really awesome! That boat turns like it is attached to a rail. I wouldn't want to be a by stander when one of those overshoot an outside corner though. UGH!

Yes Dr. D, but do you do it in 56 seconds and have a crowd of interested onlookers. Now if you've got a Binford 6349 61 horse twin cam with a double pumper and blower with a roll cage and auto gyro, I wanna watch.
