NTOC Photos

While I am posting photos from my photobucket, I will post a few more. Here are two links for the photos from the Car Corral at the State Fair of Texas and the trip we took in October to Nacogdoches, Texas. Both were fun events. We are headed down to Bastrop, Texas next weekend for a big Veterans Tribute car show. It has about 300 cars. I have never been and am looking forward to it. There will be a good Oldsmobile showing. Here is the link to my photobucket for the State Fair:

Wow, cool pics. Looks like a great turn out. How'd the a/c work?

The AC worked great. The car wants to run a little warm on the highway. It actually runs warmer on the highway than in town. Of course I have the electric fan and shroud and a three core radiator on it. I was hoping it didn't have a thermostat in it which could cause that. I change the thermostat today to a 160 degree. The old one was a 180 and I tested it after I took it out and it did not open until about 190 degrees. We are planning to go the to big Veterans Day Show in Bastrop this weekend. I wonder if we will need the AC or the heater.

The thermostat starts to open at its temp rating, the 160 may not throw a bunch of heat in the winter for that ragtop of yours. I wonder how much damage the fire did to the area. How warm was the engine running?

It was running about the third hash mark, about 3/4 the way over. We will see how the 160 thermostat does. This weekend should be a good test. There is nothing going on that was a result of the fire. I am sure there is no blown head gasket.

I meant the fire at Bastrop. You might consider getting a mechanical temp gauge and see what your temps are running.

I didn't know if you knew about the underhood fire with my car or not. I think most of the Bastrop event is downtown. It is supposed to be a big event. I think there is a pretty good group going from NTOC.

I would get a laser thermometer and measure the temp at the upper hose block connection. That will tell if your thermostat is working properly at the temp it is rated for. Laser thermometers are great to have. Just buy a good one, not one from HF.
