Not sure I'm digging this beard thing.

Figured I'd turn a few weeks of scruff into something, not sure I'm loving the result. Other than being lazy, I've not done any sort of facial hair art before, so I may let it go a few more weeks and see what becomes of it.

I can get away with every other day shaves, so it's slower coming in than most and it seems pretty uniform. Once I get tired of it, I may try the goatee then the highway trooper stache before it all goes away.

Any of you all the bearded type and got advice?

I started growing mine when I left MA for CA in 1980. By the time I got to Los Angeles it was pretty much grown out - of course, before that I was shaving twice a day sometimes.

I had it since then. It doesn't bother me at all. I do still have to touch up the edges daily when I go to the office. Otherwise, hair would grow up to my eyeballs.

When my son started shaving, he had to learn watching his sister shave her legs. I don't even own a razor. I can offer no advice to someone since I've never not had one.

I use to have a mustache/goatee but I cut it off because it keeps getting caught onto my zippered turtle neck. I use a mustache/beard trimmer to shave my face once a week. My skin is very sensitive if I use a razor.

I usually have a very long goatee but this winter i grew a beard and found out that sparks will burn it lol. I looked like a bum so i went back to just a goatee and now look like a roadie for the band anthrax lol .

I get annoyed by my beard (have one now) it takes me 3-4 days and its full on beard. The scratchy feel persists with me for some reason?

I'll get rid of it soon, just handy now that I have a cold and am moving slower in the morning.

Couple years ago I swore I would not shave till I got my wife's V8 Volvo project running.
I ended up having a beard for a year.

When you get old you may appreciate the beard more as it will cover your turkey neck.
