My mom would have called him an ignorant a$$, lol!! Yes, we used to get the starving children lecture too. My Marc is back in Hotlanta this week. Had to take his wife and kids back to see her mom. He was telling me about how hot it is there when he called me this morning. Said he's gonna cut the trip short and head home, he's ready, lol!!

Good Morning All!

X2 on another hot one. I think, I hope there's rain heading this way maybe by tonight.

Jamesbo you are so right about all of the boys from the neighborhood. They seem to come out of the wood works when either one goes outside. I like to clean my 45-70 double rifle when I know they're here for a visit.
Anyhoo that's pretty cool that Donny's boss gave you that, but it took all of the fun out of it though.

Any drive-ins, dust offs or car shows this week Sandy? I am searching for some around here, but I haven't seen any advertised lately.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Morning All! Happy first day of summer to ya!

Jamesbo.... you make me laugh!! My peppers are still in the cups, lol!

It's a sticky muggy morning out here today. Just yucky. Goin up close to 90 and storm chances.

They're putting up a new traffic light on Rt. 91 at the new Cleveland Clinic that is set to open next month. Now I have 13 lights to get through coming to work! So much traffic on that road. I can't wait to see how backed up it gets this winter, down to Rt. 480. And it's on a hill too! The trucks will have fun with that one, lol!

I want to go to the open house for the clinic. They've been building it for 2 years now, and it looks beautiful. They did a nice job on the landscaping and such. It will be good to have an emergency place so close by. None of the other medical facilities in Twinsburg were open 24 hrs. They had the helicopter out flying around the other day, practicing flight patterns and such from the clinic (according to the paper).

Clay is back today, so that's nice. Still gonna be a long day!

Scott..... Usual week night cruise in's around - don't know if I'll go to any other than the Stow one this Thursday. They canceled the Riverfront last evening cause of rain. Big show on Saturday - my goal is first place in the original catagory - brought in 2nd place last year, so we shall see! Have to spit shine her, lol. I'm off on Friday, so I'll be spending all day in the garage!!

Have a good one all!

This is a custom built job my Dad's friend that was in the business built for him. It is from the late 70's and is super neat. It breaks down into three pieces and is actually fabricated from a 20 gauge double barrel. It is a beautiful gun and I use to call it my elephant gun. One heck of a kick it has and if you pull both triggers at the same time, lets just say you better have the butt of the gun under your arm and not on your shoulder. Not very accurate though, I believe the barrels cross about 40 yards, intimidating enough though. I'll have to take a picture of it for you sometime. I even have hollow points for it from when I took it hunting. No good for deer though it blew both front shoulders to smithereens.

Good morning all

Back form Mississippi, man its hot & humid down there, not my cupa tea for sure. Went up to Memphis for ribs and beer now that was some great grub. They use a dry rub which is my favorite. i do not like wet ribs. The town my crew is working in is called Olive Branch. In the late 1800's is was called "Cow pen", the mayor and city council changed the name to draw business into town thought Olive Branch sounded better.

Have a great day all

Hey Welcome back Citcapp!! Nice to hear from you again! Boy did we just have a helluva downpour out here! Thunder and lightening - power flickered but didn't stay off. Heavy rain for about 20 minutes or so! Nothing will need watered tonight, lol.

Back after a 14 day trip up to Sandusky, Ohio and Pelee Island, ON, Canada, so the TW could be with her brothers and a mess of cousins......

I also drove up to Neenah, WI to visit my sister, in an assisted living home.

2400 miles in a short period is a grind at our age.

Good to be back at our compound!

Kudos to Teepo, and also to Cha-Cha!

Welcome back Pat!

Morning All !

Welcome back Don, and thank you! Glad you had a safe trip. I'm sure ya'll are tired! It's always nice to get back home and to your own bed, lol!

Nice to have you among our morning posters, Tony! Thanks for chiming in with us.

It's still very tropical feeling outside. I hate humidity!!!!!! Why can't we just get hot??I made some tuna salad last evening for supper, and had peaches and cottage cheese with it. Very light and refreshing, lol! Just didn't feel like eating, really. Then we got some more bad thunder storms with heavy rain and lots of lightening!

Another slow day in paradise, lol. Had to turn on my fan - Brian has the AC on fan only and it was 76 degrees over here! I have to have circulating air. When he goes out to smoke, I'll flip the AC on. He leaves for 2 weeks in Florida this weekend. It will be nice...... He is such a nice guy - just whines and carries on worse than any girl I've ever known, lol!

Well have a good day all! Hope all goes well at the dentist, Jamesbo. You still have your real teeth, lol? (had to do it!)

Smile Gonna Be a Beautiful Day!

We're supposed to get to only 90 today...

Thunderstorms could reach us by 4pm but will probably get stalled by the western side of the Blue Ridge. We live on the east side of the mountains in an area known as "The Thermal Belt." This causes our temperatures to be moderated by 5 to 10 degrees. Less in summer, and more in winter. No one knows why this happens except that we do know that the mountains make weather! Our temps mimic Hotlanta.

Hope ya'll have a sunny day!

Good Morning All!

Its good to be able to spend extra time with the kids, but after being laid off for a while I am ready to go back to work. I've been looking really hard for jobs around here, even applying at the AFB for a civil servant job. Heck I've even applied at the USPS and I think that may pay off. I took a test online this morning for them and now I have to go take a "proctored" test. Sounds promising but I'm not getting my hopes up just yet. Never thought about being a "postal" worker before.

Supposed to be a hot one again with maybe a t-storm a brewing this eve.

I've got a garden full of maters, cucumbers and carrots that are putting out like a veteran in the red light district I think I am going to have to give away some so they don't go bad. One cherry tomato plant has about 150 blooms and lil maters all over the place and the rest are doing just about as well.

So Jamesbo has to go get his pegs looked at. Good luck with that, we all go every 6 mths to have them checked and cleaned. I'll try to post those pics a little later of that 45-70.

I've got to run over to another friends house to look at their A/C this morning it seems that it's not able to keep up in this triple digit heat. He says it gets up to about 82 in the house, I told him that's pretty much all he's going to get out of it with it being 102 outside. But I'll go check just to make sure it's doing all it can. Anytime you achieve 20 degrees or more cooler than the outdoor temp, your doing something.

Sandy the humidity makes warmer temps feel even warmer, I can't stand the humidity either. But living here in middle Georgia I have no choice as it is always humid here.

Don that is some traveling you've been doing. I bet you are glad to be home. Glad to see you had a safe trip.

Welcome to the Good Morning Thread Archeryshooter. That was an old post you quoted the other day. But yes spammers get on my nerves. What neck of the woods are you from?

Anyhoo I hope everyone has a great day!

Archeryshooter glad you joined the thread. Now ya needs to werk on a "Perfect Attendance award" Like Sandy and I have.

Don and Pat lost their's fer travel'in and werk'in.

Hopes ya find a good job.

Just teasin ya! I had to laugh, lol!!! I know what you mean. I think I bought Nicole's periodontist a few cars also!

I love corned beef hash Jamesbo!! I can do without the runny egg on top, but I luves me sum hash!

Scot - you can send some of those veggies up this way, lol! My 2 sisters love cukes. I'm not nuts about them, and they sure don't like me, lol! But I'll take all the maters I can get and carrots too. Send me some Gawja peaches too!
My little cherry mater plants in the pots are just full of little maters! I can't wait till they get ripe. They still have lots of blooms too. I love to pick em and eat em, lol!!
Good luck with the job search. I applied to be a postal carrier once. I would enjoy that. I turned it down because something else came along, but I went and took the civil service test and such.

Well gonna go out and walk awhile. Ttyl!

Well Sandy, I'll have ta fix ya sum cornbeef hash fer breakfast sum time.

Shall I call ya or jes nudge ya?

You can ax Scot 'bout dis, and I believe he'll agree wit me. The best Gawga peach in de world is Belle of Gawga. It's a white freestone peach.

Only problemo is de don't ship worth a Tinker's Hurray. Thar ripe about August up ere. Thar is nutt'in to compare with the smell and taste.

De blackberies are in now and I'm fix'in to make me anutter blackberry cobbler.
1 stick of butter, I cup of sugar, 1 cup of flour, 1 table spoon bak'in powder, 1 cup of milk. Melt butter in Pyrex dish. mix dry ingredients in a seperate bowl, pour in milk. mix well. dump into buttered Pyrex dish. put balck berries on top. Do Not stir. bake @350 degrees fer 45 min til the batter rises and browns on top.

When I finally come to visit you - and I will one day - you're gonna have to fix me a "sampler buffet" of all the stuff you make so I can taste it all, lol!

Hard to believe it's like the end of June already. As I was just laying out in my lounge chair, what do I see frolicking in the grass like spring lambs??? The friggin Japanese Beetles!!!! Lord I hate those things! There go the buds on my lilies and roses....... Arrrggghhhhhh..... They're not usually out until July.

Thanks Sandy, ArcheryShooter and Jamesbo for the encouraging words about finding a job. I agree the Belle is one sweet peach but as much as I love peaches, I'd have to say my absolute favorite is the Elberta that originated about 15 miles from me. That is THE best tasting and is big as a softball. Yummy! Check out Lanes Southern Orchards. It is exactly 8 miles from me. http://www.lanesouthernorchards.com/

Here you go Jamesbo one 36 lb. hepphalump and woozle gun (Sorry for the crappy pics )

Good afternoon

Well as usual I am late to the party, went out shopping for a pickum-up truck to replace my Caddy STS. Gonna be my retirement present to myself. Yep another 12-24 months and i am done with the full time thing. Back to Mississippi next Wednesday.

Damn Jamsbo I lost my place in line just because I have to work and travel. You're one tough nut. Now If I was a girl like Sandy you'd let me off easy

Hash is only good if it is homemade, can't stand the canned and most restaurant stuff.

No doubt Pat, it is one mean gun that kicks harder than any mule I've ever seen. Good luck with the pickem-up search, my father-in-law is looking for a new STS Caddy.

I want some of those peaches, lol!!!! They look delicious. I haven't had a good one yet this summer. They're all hard as rocks in the stores. Send me some and I'll pay ya! Please?

So it's 95 degrees in Fort Valley and the humidity is only 39%? That ain't bad. We're at 83 degrees and our humidity right now is 65% according to the local weather channel. It feels yucky out there!

Hello everyone.

It rained last evening and looks like it will rain for the next 2 or 3 days.

Worked on the Cutlass yesterday and finally figured out a big part of the pulley alignment problem was the wrong water pump after all. But at least I am one step closer to getting it running again.

I have class this morning then back to working on the Cutlass this afternoon. I will be so happy when the car is running, painted and I can finally drive it again.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning all.

Gonna keep getting warmer and warmer thru the weekend. We have a race on Sunday down in the Springs. Gonna be a scorcher and I'm guessing dryer than a popcorn toot.

They had a little rain last week, but probably not enough to make this less of a dust fest than the last race we had there.

Just received my airbags for the CS yesterday. Probably going to be too busy to get them put on before the weekend. I'll have to get them on next week before the monthly cruise on the following Saturday.

Have a great day everyone.

Ok all yous guys who can spell Zamboni w/o look'in it up. Ya'll just got de straight Peach skinny from Scot [de Robert Ruark of South Gawga] He's liv'in in peach country and if he says Lanes is de place to order from, I'd believe him and place an order if it was me [or is it I] never can bermember.

Scot, 36 lbs. Great Scot, I'd need a gun bearer to tote the dern thing around. Course if ya run out of 45-70's ya could always club and elephant to death with it. I've been fool'in round wit guns since Hector was a cadet and never seen on of dem.

Last week I saw a new one also. A Luftwaffe marked survival drilling that broke down into two sections and was in a wooden case behind the pilots seat in a Messerschmitt.

Car designer, Glad you got the pulley angle of the dangle figgered out.It can be a bear [Don't ax me how I know]

Pat, I thought I was a purist, but you take de cake. Perhaps we should share home made mayo recipes.

Bye de bye, I've been very happy wit my Cheby 4X4 2500 pick em up truck. Hope ya finds what cha need.

I'm tak'in sum drugs fer my tooth so if I happpen to misspall a werd or two please forgive me.

Now What's fer breakfast? How 'bout sum blueberry muffins with lots of butter?

Morning All!

Jamesbo on drugs..... ought to be interesting! Cooler here too, but still feels tropical out there. More storms for today. Jamesbo..... Those look soooo good!Blueberry muffins are my favorite! I want one, lol!! I just had my english muffin and yogurt.

1969.... I'm gonna have to look at that peach site again. I looked and saw where you could order for like a fund raiser or something. Will have to take my time and look again. Of course I don't want to get a ton of them - I'm probably the only one who will eat them! I would love to have a few though!

Car designer..... glad to hear you're getting the problems figured out! Little bit, little bit.....

Today is my Friday, since I'm off tomorrow. Gonna bond with Teepo in the garage all day tomorrow to get her ready for the show on Saturday. The rain is supposed to be out of here by the weekend. It better be!! Then since I'm off Monday too, I'll go to the Riverfront and pick up my picture award.

Have a great day all!

Good morning guys and Sandy

Gee whiz Sandy Bonding with Teepo, like Jamsbo I am getting a weird visual on that, think I will stick with the Blueberry muffins. Got some blueberries in the freezer time to break them out.

A good single malt scotch will take care of that tooth Jamsbo.

Don lets post 10 times a day and maybe we'll catch up

Cool and raining here, will it never end..........Moses is just waiting and building the ark just up the street

You guys don't concern yourselves about Teepo and I, lol!!

So.... 13 peaches for $46.00! That's alot of money. Why can't I just order 6 peaches or something? Darn it.
