Hey everyone, Happy Friday! Another work week come and gone, but it was a good one for me. Had my best week since I started my business, not getting rich yet, lol, but at least if this keeps up I can cover the bills.

It was warm enough here today for the kids to play in the snow. We have a small hill in our side yard and I built it up with extra snow so they could snow tube. Should be able to get one more day out if it before everything melts, supposed to be in the 40's this weekend.

Clint/Sandy - Thanks for the comments. Missed keeping up on everything here for a few days, glad to be back.

Sandy - that's the same regimen they put my mom on. I remember her making it through it ok so hopefully you'll be feeling better soon too.

Mike - Thanks. Good question on why it always costs that much to fix the computers. So far it seems to be working again. Kept getting this error message that the device driver stopped working and then it crapped out.

Well, have a good night everyone.

Happy Feb 1 everyone.

Got up to high 50s today, and will only go down to 42 tonight. There's this lone little patch of snow still left in the yard, otherwise snowmaggedon or whatever the cheezy name is is all but a memory.

First night back. I expect the ride in to be less drama than the last time I attempted it. Only two this week. Took Monday off so I can head out early Tuesday to New Orleans. Gonna have a look at John's friend's car and I have a sneaky suspicion it's gonna follow me home. I'm also going to stop in and see my Mom for a day or so. That will be nice.

Not much else is happening. Ran a couple errands this afternoon after I woke up. The dogs seem to have an over abundance of energy today. Yesterday my boy didn't feel like nuthin' so we laid low.

Well everyone have a good weekend, rain coming our way but we need it to wash off all the sand that's been spread everywhere.

Evening All!

We made it up to 42 today with rain/snow mix that turned all to rain.

My friend Pam came over this morning and took me to look at wigs. We were all over Parma and Strongsville. Found one similar to my color and length, made from human hair that I liked pretty good. The one place we went to you have to have an appointment. I didn't know that. So I'll call them Monday and make an appt. for next Saturday. I have an eye exam next Saturday morning too. Tomorrow I'm going and having Katy wash my hair and cut it shorter and thin it. It's hard to try on wigs with still having my hair. Can't tell how they're going to fit. So Pam offered to take me again next week. That's so friggin traumatic.

We got home after 2 and she stayed and had a piece of pie with Larry and talked awhile. I took Advil and laid on the couch. I have body aches and pains today really bad. On top of everything else. This just sucks. I rested awhile and then went to Wal Mart with Larry. We ate at Arbys, but it didn't taste good. I did buy some peanut butter crackers to munch. I have to watch constipating things like peanut butter though.... from one extreme to the other, lol.

That was about the extent of my day. Nicole went to Columbus again. Larry got mad about that cause she should be here to help. Really isn't anything for her to do. But he took it upon himself to run the sweeper and dust. It could have waited until one day next week when she is home to do it. It's been a month since he's exploded, so he's due, and she will be the target.

Well you all have a good evening. I'm tired.

Afternoon all!

Where is everyone today?? Cloudy and 30 out today. Had rain/snow mix this morning that made an icy mess.

I went and had Katy cut my hair this morning. I really like it!! I think I've been ready for shorter hair for a while now, just couldn't figure out what I wanted. So I told Katy to just have at it. Real short in the back now. I forgot what it's like to feel my neck, lol. Larry doesn't like it. But he doesn't like short hair anyhow. He just said 'it's awful short'. Well it's gonna get shorter, that's for sure.....

I feel the best today that I've felt since Tuesday. That ain't saying much, lol, but I don't feel as queasy, not as achy, and I was able to eat a frozen pizza that tasted pretty good. Still feel weak and tired and have a few aches though. Long way from normal. I came home from the hair place and put my nightgown back on and am just sitting on the couch. Larry made a pot of chili. I was afraid to eat any of it.

Clint.... I'm gonna try to post pics of the snow rollers. I took them with my cell phone towards evening, so I hope you can see them ok.

Well you all have a good day, where ever you are!!!

Hey everyone.

Got to 70 today! Because of rain, though. Rain starts this evening and ends in the morning.

Sandy the hair looks great! Never seen a snow roller, guess I can't say that anymore. Maybe my yard was too small for them up home.

Jamesbo what is a bead recipient?

Slept good today, when the dogs weren't bothering me. At one point they wanted to go out, so I was standing on the porch in my jammies and they were running and barking and wouldn't stop, so from somewhere, I don't know where, this big voice said, get in here! and they both turned around and ran in as fast as they could, with their ears back. Hm. I should figure out how to do that again. After that they didn't bother me again until 430.

Okay off I go. Have a good night everyone hope your week starts out good.

Who's that hip, young chick from Ohio on the board now? Sumpin' like "Cutlass Gal"? ;-)

So it sounds like we're gonna' rendezvous in LaPlace on Tuesday, huh Mike? I'm planning on it.... Hope you like the TR-6.

Better half and I went to see Aunt Jean in hopsital last night; it was her 91st birthday, poor kid. She was still in pain, but she forgets to request the pain pill, and the nurse told me they're forbidden to give them to the patients until they request. Sounds screwey, but then, it's a facet of the medical industry, so that's par for the course.

They moved her to the rehab ward, so I guess that's good. She's actually begun her PT, although it's pretty simple now; I hope she can work through the pain. I know she ain't gonna' want to, but that's the only way she'll be able to come back and live with my other aunt -- I think that will really motivate her, rather than just moving to a home a la Aunt Connie.

I hope this isn't too macabre for the gang, but since everybody followed me so closely on Aunt Connie's journey, I thought I'd share her notice of passing. The services were very nice... everything was pretty much as expected -- no surprises. My brother gave a very touching tribute.

Y'all have a fab resto' weekend, Oldsmofriends. And Go, Bronc's!

p.s.: never heard of a snow roller before (or seen one to my knowledge); but that's cool, 'Gal.

Evening everyone. Was watching the Super Bust before, talk about not living up to its hype. I missed most of the first half, the misses complained that one of the kids made a mess of the dryer. Turns out one had crayons in their pocket, and they melted all over the clothes and the inside of the dryer. Took me about an hour and a half to clean that up.

Most of our snow melted today, made it up to 58 degrees. Of course, it's going to snow tomorrow and Wednesday, can't wait.

Hope you all enjoyed the weekend.

Going to bed, have a good night all.

Morning All!

We have a little sun peeking out this morning. So strange to see! Temps in the 20's. Under a winter storm watch for tomorrow night thru Wednesday. So tired of it already.

I feel crappy but am at work. Might as well sit here and get paid then to sit at home. Brian is blowing his nose and sounds plugged up. He warned me that hes getting a cold. I'm not supposed to be around sick people. I'll be using the clorox wipes on everything. Would be nice if they would be courteous enough to use them after themselves but they wont. Its quiet in here again.

Larry has to go get a tooth cut out this afternoon. The crowns keep falling off of it and the dentist told him he can't do anymore with it. So he'll be in a major bad mood when Nicole gets home. Poor kid!!

On those snow rollers, they say conditions have to be absolutely perfect for them to form. Ice under the snow, lose snow on top, wind just strong enough. They were pretty cool.

Well you all have a good Monday.

Hi everyone.
What a great Friday I had. Just did a couple tests, did some online training, and was out the door at 330. Slept all morning and still have the afternoon to do stuff.

Sandy I wish you felt better! Maybe the dentist can inject some novacaine into Larry's brain so he'll be a little bit mellow when he comes home.

Jamesbo I was thinking car. I may have to stop off at a roadside stand to get some beads. Don't want to miss out.

John thanks for posting the announcement. Give Aunt Jean a post-it note that says remember to ask for the pain medicine. Looking forward to seeing you and Pete tomorrow.

Gonna work on the truck this afternoon and get it ready for our big ride. I'm leaving at o'Dark Thirty tomorrow. Should be a good time.

Have a good afternoon everybody.

Morning all!

Clouds and sun right now, temp at 20. We're under the storm watch. Supposed to get anywhere from 4 - 10 inches overnight. Yipeeeeee...

I have a mild fever today along with aches. Just something new every friggin day i swear. I don't have to call unless temp gets to 100.5. It was 99.1 last hour. It came down some. Don't know who's cold I picked up but I sneezed all day yesterday and last night and nose is running and sore. God does it hurt my chest to sneeze! That tube from the port inside my artery.......

Nicole made it home sometime last night. I had to call Defer this morning to make an appt for her to take the Intrigue in. She says its been heating up.... says like when shes idling at a light, the temp gauge arrow thingy moves up and when she starts driving it comes back down. Sure hope it isn't anything expensive. She said the coolant is where it should be in the holder. I don't know. Anyhow she can take it to them next Monday.

Sooooo... I discovered over the weekend that Dude has used 2 of my big planters in the breezeway as a litter box at some point! I saw all this dirt laying on the floor and then saw where something had been digging in the planters. Never would have thought it was him until I saw the "evidence" in the planter when I was scooping the dirt back into it. He must have done it when the snow was piled up so high against the doors last week and he couldn't get out. Poor guy, there is no ground to be seen anywhere outside and the snow is so deep for him to try to get through it. I'm in no shape to shovel paths for him like I usually do so he can get to ground. I'm not happy with him but what can I say? I wouldn't want to go squat in that snow either.

I walked a half a lap around the complex yesterday at lunch time. It was nice to be out in the sun! Little bit.... little bit.. I think id feel really good today if it wasn't for this cold thing going on. My taster seems to be improved some today.

Linda's friend Bruce took her grocery shopping yesterday since I couldn't. She said she stuck to her list and I would have been proud, lol. I'm glad she got it done.

Well you all have a good day.

Sandy, Sounds like the electric fan quit working for one reason or another.

Jeff, We usually dn't get much snow on the front range from you guys. The western slope usually squeezes it out as it hits the divide. Our bigsnows usually curl around from the south and upslope. But it is cold this morning. Sitting at -6F right now with 84% RH.

Have a day all.

Morning, Oldsmogang

'Twas a moderate 41 this morining at the Plantation, after about 8-10 hours of fairly steady rain last nite. Glad it ended before the sojourn to the S. Shore.

Sorry we didn't get to rendezvous yesterday, Mike... I got a call from Pete last night at 6 p.m. and he said he and Bruce were just starting to eat! It was an uphill battle to think all those details could magically take care of themselves in a couple hours, so hopefully no harm, no foul. Let's try to get together when I make it back to GA in a month or two....?

Jamesbo, I'm tuning out everything that has anything to do with the Olympics and Sochi. I plain don't care... I'm just that kind of apathetic person. I'm not wild over NBC in the first place, but they've sunk a gazillion dollars into coverage and have been ramming everything Olympics down their viewers' throats for a year now. I'm sick of it before the first contest, and even try to avoid NBC when at all possible. Nothing personal against any of the atheletes, of course. ("Not that there's anything WRONG with that.")

Sounds like the deepfreeze is rearing its ugly head again in the Midwest and Northeast. Hope we don't get hit hard down here.... the poor Ponchatoula strawberry crops couldn't take another blast at this point....

Flirtin' w/a GS in MN. Too bad it's so far away... but I think I gotta' have it!

Y'all have a great Humpity Hump, Oldsmofriends.

Morning All!

Well we have snow. And we have ice. And we have more snow. What a mess out there!! Still snowing lightly, it gets heavy and then thins out some. Guess we have another round coming at us on Sunday. This is really old.....

I called off work today. I shivered all night and I feel like crap. Head is plugged and nose just runs and runs. I'm gonna call Dr. Rehmus here in a minute. Temp was 100.8 earlier. Hope to hell she doesn't want me to go over there in this weather.... just call me in an antibiotic and it will be all good!!

I think I feel good if it wasn't for the head cold or whatever. My taster is better and I don't feel chemo crappy anymore. I'd sure like to get just 3 days in a row where I feel human before my next treatment.

Clint.... is the electric fan an expensive fix? If I felt good, I'd go out and take a look at the thing. Not that I'd have a clue where to look for a fan, lol. Everything crammed in under there so tight....

Jamesbo.... yesterday I made one whole lap around the complex. It felt good to be out walking. I'll get there... I'm not into the Olympics. Never really cared about them.

Mike... did ya make it to Nawlins? I wanted to go there this spring. I make plans and God laughs, lol.

Well you all have a good day and stay safe if you're in this bad weather area.

Mike made it to LaPlace noonish yesterday, right on schedule; unfortunately, it took the boys over 5 hours to do all that had to be done for Mike to be on his merry way over to Pensacola.... I should've known. Unfortunately, I couldn't wait around that long. I was hoping to rendezvous some time b/w noon & 3 so I could make it to the S. Shore after to see Aunt Jean without getting back home at midnight, since this morning was a school day.

I have no idea what or where Mike wound up eating, except, of course, stopping at 4-5 Awful Houses along I-65 & I-10.

Mornin all.

Sandy the fan can be but it may be a switch or a relay that is not allowing it to come on which could be much cheaper. It'll have to be diagnosed to know for sure what the culprit is.

Jamesbo. This Sochi thing doesn't sound good at all. I hear that the hotel isn't finished, they don't recommend drinking the water, or using their smartphones, or wearing their uniforms (Which are hideous by the way.

Just doesn't seem very well thought out.

John thats where I picked up Brit. Got any pics?

I say they delay the Olympics by a week.. move them back to Utah.. where we are ready for them . .like that will happen
we still use all of the venues used 12 years ago on a regular basis.. all is complete and ready to host again..

I just had a great idea.. for the IOC..
Host city with a back up city..
just incase the awarded host is NOT ready to go by 30 days prior move them to the back up city..

Morning, all.... Jamesbo, Uncle Remus dun hit the nail on the head....

'Twas 32 at the Plantation; they said it was gonna be 28, so I'm almost pleasantly surprised.... I think Elsie has been drinkin' from the pond all night and is about ready to burst her bladder.... sleet is definitely a possibility, and highs will be in 40s today, which is way cooler than normal.

Currently working on pulling the trigger on a '72 GS. Just tryin' to figger out the logistics, since it's 1300 mi. from me! :-(

What's up today, Sandy? Hope you get to stay home and nurse the cold; outside ain't nowhere to be in that weather....

Clint, you mean LaPlace? If so, I have to drive thru it every time I journey to N.O. (at least 3-4 times a week... and have quite a few friends who live there).

Y'all have a great Thursday, Oldsmomates.

Morning all!

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, I feel like me again and life is good!!!!! . Its a balmy 9 degrees this morning. Had a little more snow overnight but I think we're done until Sunday now.

Still got the head cold. Nose is soooooo red and sore. Called the doc yesterday and they said I could take over the counter stuff for it but to watch my temp. It came down yesterday. I went to Giant Eagle around 2 and got some Advil congestion relief pills, which seem to be working. Just stayed on the couch and rested afterwards.

I'm telling you I ate like a starving dog yesterday! Food tastes good again! When I was at Giant Eagle I got 4 donuts - which I never do - I scarfed down the jelly donut in the parking lot, lol. Then I went across 91 to the Dairy Queen and got a cheeseburger and fries. I also took home a banana split and put in the freezer. Wolfed down that burger on my way home. The fries didn't taste too good. When I got home I ate a glazed donut. My God it was like I hadn't ate in months! I ate the banana split about 8:00. Bet I gained 5 lbs lol. I even worked out a little bit last evening. Oh its so nice to feel like a human again!!!!

I'm sure Dr rehmus will shoot me down when I see her tomorrow and tell me that I'll feel worse after the next treatment as I get weaker.... she likes to do that crap. So I'm going to enjoy next week until I get chemo on the 18th.

Didn't miss anything in here yesterday. It's still slow. They're working on our insurance stuff in Houston now. I sure hope it doesnt go up too much. I'm worried about it.

Thanks Clint.... we'll see what Defer says Monday. I'm hoping for the cheaper option. Cant wait for Sunday and TWD!!!!!

Well you all have a great day!

Acquisition

he, he! I fergit what I B postin' from one day to da' next. It's in Staples, MN. Car was delivered in Escondido, CA, and grew up (and old) in Las Vegas. It spent many, many years sitting in the western desert sun -- so the interior was toast. But to the best of our knowledge, it only has 33k miles on the ticker. It moved to MN about 3 yrs. ago.

Besides the distance, Clint, I have the issue of the color. I'm really not wild about the Burnished Copper. But I can't decide whether its sheer weirdness will grow on me and be a conversation piece, or whether I'll always regret its not being red or blue. I'm going to get the car. So I just want to decide up front whether to change colors (its current coat is brand new!) or take it as is. It does have a beautiful white interior, and it came with a white vinyl top, although he didn't go back with the top when he recently resprayed the car (which is just fine by me). Y'all be honest.. ya' really can't offend me, as this wouldn't even be my 5th choice in color. The color's saving grace is that it was facory original.

Very odd assortment of options, I might add... almost as weird as my SF options. They just don't fit together as a package. The word "eclectic" comes to mind.

But it does have a 100% intact and legible build sheet, which is a real plus to me. Very little other documentation, except a few emissions certifications from the 80s. But it's a gen-yoo-wine '72 GS 455 just like my other one, and was built on the same assembly line (Fremont, CA).

It needs some smoothing and finishing; but in the end, I couldn't pass it up, and the price was fair IMHO. More details to come in the coming days & weeks, as I'm sure you're aware ... ;-)

I'm probably going to fly up there to settle things in a couple weeks. One thing that's making it easy is the guy is nice and we seem to achieve a meeting of the minds early on. He had over 2000 ebay feedbacks with an overall rating of 100%, so that told me a lot... I'm a hunnert percent too, but I have less than 200 feedbacks in 14 years.

Altho Not a fan of the color I could live with it since it is OE. Looks like the trunk trim is missing. If the paint is really good, I'd say leave it. BUT those whitewalls have got to go.

I'll be interested to see more

I'm with you, Clint. I'll decide on the color in the next couple weeks. Coincidentally, those are brand new radials that would just "slip" onto the Starfire...

Might opt for a set of "new" factory 15x7s for the GS. All up in the air, and nobody with a gun to my head to decide today; so I'm just having fun with it, which is the whole reason to have it.

God bless Daria....!

Good morning and Happy Friday everyone.

Had a good trip. John thanks for keeping the group updated on my whereabouts. Computer access isn't the easiest when I'm on the road sometimes.

Got things loaded up Tuesday afternoon and got to my Mom's around 7pm. Had a nice visit with her for a day or so. Yesterday left out about 11am and had an uneventful trip home. Today I need to unload and get the Uhaul trailer turned back in. Man do those pull nice.

Jamesbo I didn't see any beads nor did I see anyone I wanted to throw them at. The party must have been held in a different New Orleans because all I saw was traffic.

John the Buick looks nice. You gonna drive it home? That would be an excellent trip. Nothing wrong with the color, and you can't go wrong with a white interior, unless you're a mechanic. I had a Mustang with white leather seats once, and drove it to work. I brought a complete change of clothes every night and in the morning I'd change before I left. That got old real quick.

Plenty to do today. Get to Awful house and back, Walmart, take the trailer, then mess around the rest of the day with my new toy.

Hope everyone had a good week.
