You would think that the DNR is running out of money or something . With how expensive fishing and hunting licenses / stamps are , they should all be rich . Morning All!

It's in the low 50's right now and a chilly wind is blowing. It gets pretty cool when the clouds go in front of the sun.

I had a nice visit with my friend Terry yesterday! It was so nice to see her. The Sheraton in Cuyahoga Falls is really nice! The river and falls are right behind it. We stood out there so she could smoke, lol. She headed back to sunny Phoenix this morning. She was freezing yesterday. It was a dank cloudy day here of course.

Nicole and Nick came over yesterday for awhile. Then they went running around. I cleaned the house. Last night I met Jean and David in Ravenna, and Nicole and Nick, and I drove us out to Garrettsville to The Fortress Of Fear haunted attraction. It was fun! Had to stand outside in line for almost an hour. It was chilly! They scared the crap out of me, lol. I ended up being the last in line somehow and the ghouls were right behind me.... I had a grip on Jeans coat!! It was well worth the $13 admission. We had a great time! I didn't get home until after midnight.

I'm at the Stow Glen Nursing Home show today. There were only 7 cars hrs when I got here at 10:45 but its filled up now. They're still coming in. Nicole and Nick are supposed to stop by on their way to Cedar Point.

Glad to hear Paul and Bryan are feeling better and everyone is having a good weekend. Ken.... glad you checked in!

Well I'll have to check in late on my laptop. This Kindle is almost out of battery. Have a great day all.

Hi all

Just rolled back into town from a 5-week motorhome vacation. Did the all of the canyon lands from Montana thru Utah then up the coast from California to Washington. Also hit death valley, that place is a bit of a bitch for a 38' foot rig towing a car. 9% grade going down for 15 miles and I mean straight down no switchbacks had to stop and cool the brakes and a couple of times and still ran a stop sign at the bottom and going back up the other side same 9% grade from 258' below sea level to 8000 feet. Overheated three times and had to pull over and cool off, not a fun day. Total of just under 4k miles. Now its back to work time and back to the cars and CO Missed you all.

Looking at several pages of good morning and it looks like everybody in doing fine. Have a great day all

Welcome back Citcapp! Sounds like a fun trip, other than the few problems, lol. I wish we could take a vacation. I want to go back to Utah again sometime. I made the trip from Washington to California down the coast many years ago. It was nice.

Well we didn't win anything at the show today. I was talking to the guys about Teepo's seat covers. I did get a little swatch of material from SMS last week. It's the same green brocade. $89.00 a yard! I imagine I would have to order the naugahyde or vinyl - whatever it is - seperate. So I was asking about upholstery shops and such. They said to see if SMS would make the seatcovers, so I will call when I get a chance and ask.

When I got home I planted some bulbs and cut more dead hostas down. Larry got on the tractor out and mulched the leaves. God do we have leaves...... It smelled so nice outside.

Well guess I'll get off here and get stuff ready for work tomorrow. I'm gonna dress like it's summer tomorrow because it's supposed to be 71 degrees, and I know Steve and Clay will have the heaters blasting and I will roast!

Have a great evening all!

How's everyone this evening?

Pat glad you made it home safely and had a good trip. I've always wanted to follow the Lincoln Highway from one end to the other.

Allan that's where I got that! I love Winnie the Pooh. I wondered if anyone would recognize that.

It was a beautiful day here today. Supposed to be nice all week I think. I spent half the day inside cleaning house, but had a good time with the dogs hanging out. Tomorrow plan to wash the car and do some yardwork.

Think I'll turn in soon. Hope everyone's week starts out good.

Monday Morning all.

Mike, I also recognized it. I wasn't much into him, but my daughter sure was.

Pat glad y'er back.

Bryan, I'd say so, especially for how straight that VC looks. And if they're all lifelong CO cars, there shouldn't be too much rust anywhere.

Scot. I think right now we are at the low price for beef and pork, since so many bailed on their herds this year. I think prices are rock bottom and going to head up sharply til next summer/fall.

Well, picked up all the leaves in the front and back this weekend. Went to bed and woke up with a nasty upset stomach. Doesn't sound like a very fun day.

Be well, Olds friends.

Morning All!

Sunny and cool this morning, temps in the 40's, heading up to the 70's! Thursday is my birthday, and it's supposed to be like 72 and sunny for a change!!! It's usually dark and depressing, lol. Next week is looking totally different...... I'm seeing rain/snow mix in the forecast. Too early........

Well it was cold in here when I got here. I'm surprised Clay didn't turn on the heat! He says to me " well maybe you and Brian won't have to turn on the AC today since it's only 62 degrees in here". I replied, "Clay, Brian will turn on the heat when he gets here, and as you can see, I have on a skort and sleeveless top. When it hits 82 degrees in our office, that's just too damned hot and I don't care what you say! I try to be accomodating and dress like summer. It's easier to get warm than it is to get cool once it's too hot." He didn't say anything. He has on a friggin fleece shirt!! So when Brian came in, the heat got turned on. It's up to 75 in here, which means it's 70 out in Clay's space. Both he and Steve have the heaters blastin....... Can't wait until this afternoon when it's 70 outside and 80 in here!!!!!

The trucks came this morning and almost blocked me in our driveway - they're getting natural gas in the house across the street from us, so they're gonna start diggin for the line today, I guess. The lady didn't have the money to do it last year. Larry bought 2 lengths of black pipe and donated what we had leftover from ours, and our neighbor Steve ran the pipe for her to the outside and pressure tested it and all that. So I guess she's ready to get hooked up. I know it sure saved us money last year not having to buy propane. It's up to $3.89 a gallon here now!!!!! I don't miss that big bill, lol!

Sure hope Nicole went to class today, since Nick's here. She said she was...... she hasn't missed a day so far.

Well you all have a great day! Hope ya feel better Clint!

Good Morning ....

Woke up a bit congested and coughing , but the cold is pretty much gone . I think I'm still getting a bit to much dust from sandblasting . I will once again come up with even a better idea then the last one . Other then that , I have to put my apron on , and go clean a hallway to help my wife out with her busy schedule . ( as if mine is not ! ) Now that most of the leaves are down out of the trees here , I can put some POR paint on my fender without leaves falling in it .

Mike - I didn't catch the Winnie The Pooh thing . I was always a fan of that Droopy Dog character .... " You Knooow What ? " was his famous line in a mouth full of crap voice .

Sandy - Wow ! $3.89 a gallon ? I'm glad I have charcoal grill lol I remember this haunted house I went to one time years ago . There was this guy in there messing around , acting like he was going to punch one of the displays hanging in the house , and a guy in a costume that was there to scare people , came around the corner at the wrong time , and almost got nailed in the face with this guys punch . He was the one who got scared .

Well , I'm gonna pull my skirt up and go cleaning ..... Wish me luck !

Monday Mawnins suck sometimes..
What a pleasant surprise to the mawnin wakeup today! It's a balmy 16° outside and with wind chill it's 14°. Forecast high of 32° if we're lucky. The weather facts on the news showed last year on this date we were at 56° so it's a bit of a let down. Hope it changes for the better for Halloween or there won't be much in the way of goblins and ghouls out there.

Sandy - just be glad for the warmth you have. Sounds like OH will be having a very pleasant Indian Summer (I think that's what it's called when you have nice fall weather). Natural gas is a standard for home heating up here. Propane is 3.89/gallon? That is high. Not as high as the rip off at the propane stores here though. For 20 lbs which is around 4.5 US gal it costs a little over 20.00. That works out to 4.45/gal. I remember not that long ago (in relative terms) it was only .65/gal

Mike - Oh bother, make sure you get some 'hunny' for your pancakes at Awful House. I enjoyed Winnie stories too. Especially reading them to my son when he was little. I tried to mimick the voices of the characters. He seemed to really enjoy that. Really loved Eeyore. So are you really looking at those 3 cars? Maybe after you finish washing the ones ya got...

Pat - Sounds like an interesting vacation. How many times did you have to change your drawers on the down grades? I'm guessing your motor home prolly is due for brake service.

Clint - What caused the upset tummy? You breath in some leaf mold or other crap? Get better soon! Beef prices up here are in flux. We just had an 'ecoli' scare during the last month. The biggest meat processing plant in the province was shut down due to contamination issues. Morning news showed literally tons and tons of boxed frozen beef being dumped in the Brooks landfill. The rest of it is being rendered or torched to kill the ecoli. Still hasn't stopped me from eating beef tho. We tend to eat a lot of chicken as the main meat dish - chicken prices are atrocious unless you stock up when it's on sale it costs a small mortgage. Fortunately we live close to a volume discount meat supplier.

Allan, did you add that Canadian flag to your banner, or was it always there? I guess it never struck me before.
To drive the point home, you should record a little midi file (why don't you hear that term any more?) with "And 'I am Can 'eh' jun - eh'" recorded, to really hear how it should be said....

I was in the GS Club of America for over 20 years and we had a pair of brothers from Canada that were into GS restoration big-time... the Diabo brothers. They'd always speak at our meets and it was fun listening to them. They forgot more than I ever knew about GSs... and they were into the whole thing, too... engines, trannies, chassis, bodies, paint... the whole ball o'wax. If I'm not mistaken, they did a few Oldses too.

Speakin' of 'maters, I made a beef stew in the crock pot last week; browned a rump roast in the skillet and made a roux; den put the whole shootin' match in da' crock for 10 hours... it's fab
I used whole cherry 'maters, which of course cooked, but da' skins stayed whole; den when you bit 'em, de hot 'mater juice burst into the mixture to delight the palate.

I actually thought they'd cook down, but they stayed whole. I also threw in red potatoes, onions, green beans, carrots, & celery, plus some parsley and oregano. C'est si bon!

Hope you feel better, Bryan and Clint. Have a good start-o-week, all....

Hey everyone.

Uh, Allan, the name of the place is WAFFLE house. They don't have pancakes. How much fun would it be to ask for them, though. I actually saw a guy today put honey on his waffle.

So yes, I was at the Awful house today. Wasn't planning on going, but suddenly realized I didn't have any food in the house. So a trip to the grocery store ensued after brekky.

Oh, and while I was there, speaking of birthdays, I had to find a birthday card, which I hate to do, and this woman behind me says, can I help you with anything? I said, nah, all these cards suck. I turned around and it was the rep from the greeting card company. Oops! Well she did help me find something nice but it wasn't easy. I don't very often put my size 10 1/2 foot into my evidently size 10 1/2 mouth.

No not serious about three cars in Denver. There's a wagon out in California I wouldn't mind having but I think someplace warm would have to turn very, very cold before I went there. Again.

Gee guys bad time to get sick, the beginning of cooler weather. Hope it all passes quick. I can think of plenty of years growing up that if it wasn't raining on Halloween, we had to wear our winter coats over our costumes.

John there was this guy I went to college with that had a 70 GS. He had a vanity plate that said something like GS70. He sold it and bought a Volare and man did that plate look funny on that car.

Sandy maybe you should wear a grass skirt into work and play Hawaiian music.

Okay gotta bounce. Gonna wash cars today. Hope Jamesbo plays good.

Ecoli is serious stuff , but I think half of what they say on the news is BS ! Just an excuse to raise prices is all .

Bryan - this is no joke. It was nothing to do with price fixing. There were a lot of people who got sick from the contaminated meat. The food inspection agency and plant owners took heavy flak from the media and public.

Mike - Sorry. Hunny goes good on Waffles too! BTW they should expand their market to include pancakes. Hmmm, maybe also grits....an fried green maters...and clam chowder..an.. Have fun washin dem cars son!

HEY!!! Where's Jamebo??? Ya'll have fun playin whack whitey??? Hope you is ok, not like ya ta miss de early posts....

That's a lot of maters Bryan, lol! Yummy......

I heard about several Ecoli epsiodes this summer. Seemed like there was more than usual.... who knows what we're eating.

.....Sandy maybe you should wear a grass skirt into work and play Hawaiian music.

Mike - that just made me laugh, lol! Maybe I should. I came in from my walk at noon, and Brian had turned off my fan. But that's ok.... Clay switched the heat off at about 9:20 this morning after complaining about being cold first thing. He said that if he didn't, that Brian would turn on the AC about 11:00. I didn't stop him, lol! It's a stagnant 76 in here now.

Jamesbo must be having a busy day.......

Oh yeah, I posted pics from the show yesterday over in the General Discussion forum.

Just a gorgeous beautiful day outside! Leaves smell soooo good and crunched when I walked on them, lol. It hit 70 degrees out there. Blue skies..... a good lounge chair day!!

Hey I totally missed my one year anniversary here. It was yesterday. Been a good run I've learned a lot.

Sandy like the Publishers Clearing House says, watch your mailbox.

Allan the Awful house already has grits. I just never get them, they are like eating buttered sand. I am going to ask for pancakes and see what they say. There's a smart mouthed little girl that works there I'm sure she'll have something colorful. I've got a running list of things they need there. Cinnamon, whipped cream, milk shakes, to name a few.

Okay as soon as the mail comes I can wash cars. I need to park something in front of the mailbox.

Guess y'all noticed Mike is a transplant.[ He don't like grits.]
Sum'em ain't right wit de poor boy.

We always borrow his company's slogan when we ere northerners complain'in.

"Delta's ready when you are."

Got a small leak on de main pipe outa de commmunity well system in de mountains. Frigg'in Hemlock root grew into a coupling. If it ain't one thing it's 2.

Glad to be missed buy my Olds friends. [even de one who don't like grits]

Good Afternoon All

What a beautimus day it turned out to be

Glad to hear you got your CPU back on board Jamesbo

Mike don't like grits? Ya gotta have lots of butter my friend Oh and eat them while they are still hot. How many teeth does that smart mouthed one have?

Had to go look at another A/C today for a friend on their rental house, so after thoroughly inspecting the whole system and duct work it seems as if the tenant just wasn't accustomed to a heat pump. Well at least there was nothing wrong with the system.

Mike - belated happy anniversary! Sorry I missed it. But you know we all love ya on here regardless of what we miss. So just in case I miss it, Happy Birthday! Grits is good eatin son! Try dem. I likes mine wit brown sugar and cream. Y'all call for reinforcements if that smart mouthed girl needs her teeth re-arranged. Sounds like they need to revamp their menu to include a few civilized things.

Jamesbo - Hemlock? Ya, good luck playin wit dat stuff. Wundered why yew was actin strange. You still been a goat?

Scot - next AC that you inspect an it's good? Y'all pull it and sell em a new one. Den send me de old one an I'll stick it wit my shack here. I got plenty o AC right now that its almost Nov. Brrrr, now I needs dat heat pump to kick in an warm us up.

Howdy all.

Just got back from Summit. A nice turnout, actually, but no Oldsmobiles. Next week is the last one but I'll be out of town.

Jamesbo I wasn't complaining about grits, I just said I don't like them. If Delta had maintenance someplace that wasn't either arctic cold or unbearably expensive I would go there. Besides we have dumb slogans now. Keep Climbing. Good goes around. Wherever Delta flies, I want to fly Delta. Huh?

So I was gonna go to Denver this weekend, but a guy in Florida is selling what's left of his parts car, and it's got enough parts that I could use left on it to make it worth my while. So I'm gonna go there, and also stop in to see my family, and I'll hit Denver in a couple weeks.

Well I brought the dogs home some ice cream and gave it to them and they had it gone in about one minute flat. I told them they'd freeze their eyeballs but they didn't listen.

Think I'll settle in for the evening. Tomorrow is planned Awful house then I think I'll wax the black truck and paint a couple of closet doors.

Hope everyone's week started out good and gets better.

Allan I am afraid a heat pump wouldn't do Sandy any good much less you in the winter. Those things barely work good here. The trouble is the older people tend to have thinner blood and the output on them is less than our body temperature without the "heat strips" on, so to them they are always cold. And would rather have gas heat and pay two bills so the air temp coming out of the vents is a cozy 120*

The thing about heat pumps is that the condenser and the evaporator swap roles more or less. As to where the A/C removes the heat from inside during the summer, the heat mode on a heat pump absorbs the heat from the outside and brings it in. Starts getting real inefficient below 38* as there isn't much heat for it to bring in so to say. And it is 0% efficient below 32* Therefor the need for electric or gas auxiliary heat but overall in my climate it is a very efficient way to heat your home 90% of the winter.

Speaking of ..... now is the time to get the A/C bids going again and see who's hungry and who's not. Maybe you can score a deal

I got me some new work britches and dang they are rougher than a cobb. I washed them several times and the still feel like 80 grit. So I'm breakin in my new thermals. and its spose to be in the mid 70's today

Thanks all for the well wishes. Stomach is still a little funky, but better than yesterday. May have been somethin I ate.

Jamesbo, hope you get your plumbing straightened out. nothing worse than working with leaks when its BFcold. bad enough when the weather is nice.

Good looking maters Bryan, All we have left are green cherry maters. and the wife better get to pie maikn otherwise they-re gonna go bad.

Morning All !

It's 60 here this morning and some light rain coming down. Supposed to get up to around 71. It was 73 yesterday and just lovely. I sat on my swing on the deck last evening and read. The air smelled soooo good! It does this morning too.

It's a comfy 71 degrees in here, but Steve turned on his heater a few minutes ago, so it will get toasty.

Clint..... I'm trying to convince myself that I don't know what's coming behind these few days of Indian summer, lol. I did see rain/snow mix next week one day....

It's now supposed to be sunny and 81 on Thursday!! Wish I could take the day off, but I can't. Today is my neice's birthday.

Jamesbo... glad you were around yesterday. We were worried, lol.

I think Nicole, Nick and I are going to the Hudson Haunted House tomorrow evening. It was a good one when I was there several years ago. Nick goes back to California on Thursday. He's such a nice guy.

I'm soooooo glad the debates are over. All they did was say the same things in a different format, lol. How anyone could be undecided at this point is beyond me....

Well I reckon I better get off here and pretend to be doing something, lol! Have a great day all.

Here's a pic of Nick and Nicole at the show the other day.

You make me laugh, Jamesbo! I posted one of her and Nick in my "Last Show pics" thread in the Gen. Disc. forum yesterday. Of course she was pretending to take a bite of the hamburger on the Big Boy car tray on that Olds, lol.

Morning, all.... a nice one in the swamps. I'll take my grits w/ just salt & butta', thank you. OR, one of my favorite breakfasts is a kind of impromptu grits casserole, where I mix up scrambled eggs, grits, sausage, and cheese, put a generous dollop of butter (or -- close yer ears, Jamesbo -- Brummel & Brown) on it, and mix it all up. Also c'est si bon....
Have a great Tuesday, folks.

Hey everyone.

Another report of cool and crisp here in the Peach State. Gonna be high 70s today.

Clint I'll be in Denver November 10. That should give you guys plenty of time to whip up a blizzard and have the place snowed in. Jamesbo whoever came up with that spot for DIA was brilliant. Now the Denver metropolitan area will fill in and the city will become a major powerhouse of commerce. O'Hare is the same way. It's actually in Bensenville. There's a GA airport not too far from DIA that is probably pretty ticked by now because their airspace just got screwed up.

Time to get Tuesday rolling. Awful house then lottery tickets. Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone
Got bad news yesterday. Our cat has cancer. This is really hard to deal with right now - she's been with us for over 10 years. Graeme is particularly attached to her and we're all taking this pretty hard. Have to decide soon on when she will be put down.

Bye for awhile.

Well Allan that sure stinks. You have my empathy. Doesn't matter how long(or short) they're with us, it's tough to let go.

The pancakes trick didn't work at the Awful house today. I didn't have the smart mouthed little girl for my server and when I said I wanted pancakes, I just got a funny look. Wrong place for that, she said.

Okay gonna go wax the truck. This is going to take awhile.

Good Morning ....

A very gloomy rainy day , but it's still fairly warm for this time of year . I'm about ready to take a nap before work after calling around all morning getting prices on a fender repair . My place of employment is about to get real busy . ( as if it wasn't already ) They won't hire the temporary employees after the economy fell , even though it didn't affect their buisness very much . I think they are being stupid like usual about things ! They had real good workers that learned the job well , and then they got rid of them . Now they have new people that are not experienced in the area , and now they are behind . I will never get the decisions these people make for the life of me .

Clint - The green tomatoes ripen real fast in a cardboard box with newspaper .... as far as the stomache goes , I've always had stomache problems , so join the club .

Sandy - Nice pictures as usual

John - I never had grits before . I would like to try them .... Mail me some

Well it's off to dream land for me for a hour or so . Then it's off to work for about 10hrs . Have a good day .

Real sorry, Allan. Losing a "member of the family" pet is a painful thing, especially when the young-'un's are attached. Hope things go as smoothly as possible.

Coincidentally, a little kitty found us here at the plantation over the weeekend and we're feeding, watering, and even littering the little booger to try and get her tamed up a bit. He/she is very young and skiddish, and won't let us approach, or approach us.... he/she is too young to be flying solo, for sure.

We're hoping to tame him/her up a bit and then find a good home for her.

Since we already have 3 totally indoor cats (the last 2 found us as well), a 4th is pretty much out of the question....

p.s.: Bryan... P.M. me yer address and I'll get some good ol' Quaker grits to you tout de suite.

Allan, sorry to hear about your cat. I had a black cat (Ozzy) that I had for 17 years, when he had liver failure, and a Siberian Husky for 15 years, when I had to put her down, so I know it sucks. Hope it goes okay.
