Chris - You’re out of control, buddy. I know exactly what you’re referencing and have done it myself in the past when a capacitor blew up on me. That’s far above a normal homeowner’s agenda. Good on you.

Now have you drained your hot H2O heater? LOL

I've drained the H2O heater before, but not lately, I'll put it on my list!

I’ve changed the anode x3 times over 25 yrs. Need a long 1/2” breaker bar w/ about a 2’ pipe extension on the breaker bar. It’s a bear.

I've done them multiple times over the years. I've got a nice heavy duty 1/2" breaker bar, and a pipe extension if needed.

I've been blown away by the Stanley Cup Finals so far. With the Series tied 2-2 now, there's a good chance of it going 7 games. Every game has been contested down to the wire or in O/T. Several Stanley Cup Finals series records have been already broken. Every game has been a war between two very evenly matched teams. If the series goes 7 and the level of play remains the same, this Finals will probably go down as the greatest in history! Thoroughly enjoying myself!

Removed the last (remaining) bolt from Indian starter, removed jack shaft & removed starter. Happy I didn't have to remove compensator nut, chain tensioner & primary chain. More noodling/fumbling about for me to make some sense of what's going on w/ the starter - suspect I'll attempt to bench test the starter, but I'm more or less out of my league on diagnostics. I've changed out some starters in my teenage years. Eh, I'll see how it goes. This entire removal was so I can send it in for evaluation/repair, etc.

Caulked the six pane wooden window on garage exterior this morning & began spot-spraying for weeds in the backyard. Gorgeous weather, but you need some rain soon.

If anyone knows about hydration she does. One year when she was in the AAU Jr. Olympics at Norfolk State Univ. it was 95° and 105° on the track. It was the day for her Pentathlon event that included the 100M hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump, and the 800M run. Those girls were out on that track for 6-hours, and they had the toughest event, the 800M, for the last event of the day. Probably 8 to 10 of the 40 girl field dropped out.

Norm, Have you ever tried alkaline water? Me? I drink it all the time and cook with it. Truth be told there's so much B.S, for sale I don't have a clue if anything helps/works

Jim - About the only time I drink alkaline water is for upset stomach (acid reflex) which has been occurring more frequently as I've aged. One-half teaspoon baking soda in 1/2 glass water. Sodium bicarbonate, NaHCO₃, dissolved in solution is an electrolyte which raises the pH of the gut to neutralize stomach acid (the good old fashioned way).

I knew I had some pics from the AAU Jr. Olympics/National Championship in Norfolk in 2006 that my daughter Blaire participated in. Spectators could not get very close to track, so unless you had a nice camera with a telephoto you were screwed as far as getting any good personal pics. These photos were taken by the AAU's photographer/s on the track and posted to their website during the Meet. Not the greatest quality but still great memories. First, a nice sequence of her in the Long Jump event in the Pentathlon, then 2 pics of her during her 800M heat in the Penthahlon. That's some well deserved anguish on her face rounding the final corner in the 800M after being on the track in +100° for 6-hours. She finished 8th in the Nation in the individual High Jump, and 9th in the Pentathlon that year. Overall it was her best showing in the 5 AAU National Championship Meets she qualified for.

Chris - Nice pictures. I ran cross-country (2.2 miles) & several events in track during H.S. I remember the nasty taste of those salt pellets we'd suck on - yuck. Truthfully, I don't believe humans should be running in those events either during daily practice or scheduled competition any time the temperatures are >100°F.

Thanks. I remember those salt pellets well, they were nasty. The Trainer always had them available for us at Football 2-a-days in the late Summer before School started. I never used them, I just tried to make sure I was well hydrated before practice started, and drink on water or Gatorade breaks if we had it. I don't think they should have had the athletes out there either!

Hi everyone.

So I'm out mowing after work today and this big Silverado pickup drives slowly past. I give a half-assed wave and he goes to the end of the street and turns around and sits there. Then a few minutes later he slowly cruises back and stops to talk. Said he wanted to take down all the overgrown bushes(and I mean overgrown) in front of the house, he's got a crew with him and they could do it this afternoon. I said, let's have a look. He jumps out, I tell him what my vision is, he gives me an excellent price, and then they started working. Rough looking fellows, cheep pot smoke rolling out of the windows, I said I'm gonna keep mowing. They are already over half done, this would have taken me a hundred years. More, because it would keep growing back. So now I have to come up with a way to keep all that from growing back. It does open up the area I needed so I could have an upstairs window replaced.

Hot today, over 90. I've been bringing the crew water. I didn't really feel like birddogging them so I came in. Tiger is at Mom's of course or he'd be going crazy. I called Mom and said I'd be late for dinner. She said she fixed chili so we can have it any time.

Tomorrow is Friday. Gonna be slim pickins at work tomorrow, I don't care. I don't think it's gonna rain this weekend, and now I have new chores to attend to. That's okay. Getting this $hit taken down is wonderful.

Chris that last picture, I make that face every day on the way to work. It's about time for another tough mudder isn't it?

I think it's time for another round of water. Hope everyone has a good evening.

Jim, that's a pretty area, but strenuous, come on man? Here's Dawn's and my hiking itinerary from our hiking trip to Rocky Mountain National Park in 2016. 10 Hikes in 11 days, 107 total miles, All Hikes were at 10K feet and above, Longest Hike 13.8 miles, Highest Elevation 13,200 ft., Greatest Elevation Gain 3,825 ft. This is strenuous!

Mike - LoL on your comment about the pic. Sounds like you're getting a good deal on all the brush removal, that's great! Sometimes some jobs are just too much to do yourself and a commercial solution is the best one! 👌

Yes grave markers Elberton is the granite capital of the world. they cost $200 to ship so everyone I pick up puts $200 on moi pocket. I, a little shocked you haven't watched Band of Brothers a few thousand times. Curahee mountain was where the 101 air born trained, Wait Norm, I know you've watched it because I can remember us discussing Capt Sobel

I don't think I knew/realized 101st Airborne Division (Easy Company) was filmed @ Curahee Mtn. for Band of Brothers.

I think purple cap roundup is no longer available. I am using the last of mine and have commercial packaged stuff. I just put down 4 gallons of mix tonight. Ditches, driveway, and around the house. I also sprayed wasps.

Good morning everyone.

Slow start to the morning. The lead isn't here, most of the people are scheduled off, and the general feel of the place is low. It's gonna be a long day.

So I can't tell you how thrilled I am about the house. The crew finished up after 7, and I can tell you that was an enormous amount of work in less than 4 hours. They made a huge mess. Branches, leaves, everywhere. When they left you'd never know they were there, unless you knew what the front of the house looked like beforehand. The vision I have is to put down landscaping fabric and cover it with river rock, and then have large planters, such as whiskey half barrels, to set on top of the rock. I also need to build a fence around the AC units, since they were so cleverly put right out front where everyone can see and access them. Then I need to redo the "lattice" that closes off under the porch. Then I need to redo the railing around the porch. And I could paint. And more yardwork. And, and, and...

Jamesbo that is up near Toccoa Falls dam(Kelly Barnes dam). I learned quite a bit about that area when I was on the Lake board. The state wanted us to spend millions of dollars on our dam because of the study they did in 1977 when KB dam broke and killed all those people. The solution came after I was off the board to replace the drain valves that could be activated quicker and drain water faster.

After work it's take Mom to the doctor again. I know I'm not staying up late tonight, I didn't get into bed last night until 9. Woke up tired, can't get going. Might have to partake in some extra pop today. Anyone remember Jolt Cola? That stuff would wire a dead person.

Okay gotta get ready for the wheels that will arrive eventually. Hope everyone has a good weekend.
