Happy day after Humpday everyone!
Well last night we got a huge rainstorm around 1:00 in the morning. It's been partial sun / overcast most of the morning here. Forecast high is only around 70° but that's fine with me.
Just got back from brekkie with the boys.
Prolly head out with the wife shortly. One of the women at the home she works at is having a 100th birthday party at noon. She wants to go to that, I may as well too. Don't get a chance to meet someone who's still alive after all that time.
Clint - you sir are a very sick man......
. Good thing you and the Mrs had dirt bikes to escape on if you'd found a momma sow out there. They can run pretty fast you know.
Jamesbo - I got some chairs de cat has bin bizzy on too. Don't know if I want to re upholster right now or jus wait fer kitty to bite de big one.
Scot - Too bad they won't let ya send dem Gawja peaches cross de border.

Howdy everyone
Almost got in trouble with the attendance police. When I left the house this evening it had just finished storming, and the dogs were upset. Things have cleared now so I hope they have settled down and not busted things up.
So I'm at work waiting for my plane. It gets in around 10:40. I'm supposed to be doing some training but I'd rather do something interesting.
Jamesbo love the picture of the Shepherd. Odd how the German Shepherd Society misspells the name of the dog on their picture. Saw a GS in the free listings on Craigs tonight. Dogs whose owners resort to craigslist to pedel them don't have much to look forward to I'm afraid.
So hamburgers at breaktime tonight. We have a vending machine and the proceeds from that gets us a cookout a couple times a year. I'll take it.
Well I guess I'll do some of that training. Hope everyone has a good evening. One more and it's the weekend.

Good Morning. Happy Friday!
Hope the burgers were good Mike.
Got a Supercruise on Saturday. A buddy of mine Just got a thermador and has been switching it between his 70 Chebby SWB and and Hupmobile. looks better on the car.
I need to get a bunch of stuff cleaned up from camping, but that may have to wait until Sunday. I need to get my new kickpanels with speakers installed in the olds. Looks like its gonna be about 80 and very little chance of rain. the last 3 cruises have been cut short or otherwise disturbed by rain and/or wind.
Have a great weekend all.

Good Friday Mawnin All
Well we got about 1/2" of the wet stuff yesterday. Had some pretty gusty winds during the storm. The pool is littered with leaves
and the neighbor across the street had a dead pine tree fall on his neighbor's fence
Luckily it didn't fall on his house because it was about 60' tall and 16" in diameter for the majority of it's length
Got a busy day again and a busy weekend as well. The middle daughter is turning 15 and she is having friends over tonight and tomorrow and then the "cast of Spartacus" will descend down on Sunday
So I have to get the pool ready, pick up some presents and go down to M & T meats to stock up on the best meats this side of the Mississippi.
I hope everyone has a great Friday and a safe weekend

Morning All!
TGIF!!!! It's nice here this morning, a little muggy but sunny and it's in the mid 70's. Heading for around 94 later they're saying. Gonna be a hot muggy weekend, with rain/storm chances on Sunday, of course. I have shows planned both days.
It was a beautiful night to cruise last night.
Had a good time at Bellacino's. Really enjoyed driving Teepo, just a gorgeous night. I'm feeling the best I've felt since June lol. Figures..... this stent comes out next Friday. I hope to God I don't have to start all over again with another one and all the pain and crap.....
It's quiet in here again. I'm glad it's Friday. The week went pretty fast surprisingly.
Nicole is working at the shop today. Larry's trying to give her some extra hours. Guess her and Charlie were fighting all last night.
She texted me around 9:15 last night and said he'd been going at her for the last 2 hrs. This morning she said it went on all night. He is a strange one..... But I guess she hasn't hit bottom yet. I told her I worry about her being able to study when she starts school on Monday. Can't concentrate if someone is badgering you. Oh well.
Jamesbo.... I picked my big red mater last night!
2 of them actually. I ate one, lol. I love fresh maters... I took some pics. I had lots of green beans on one plant! I was soooo excited. Well to me, it was lots of beans for one plant, lol. The bean plants are getting bigger now. Looks like mama deer came along and chomped the top of that huge mater plant, as it was neatly cut off at the top, and some broken branches. Next year I know what to do differently with my garden. I had no idea these plants would get as big as they have, lol!!! The metal tomato cage thingys are tilting over because the plants are so heavy. I brought in a baggie of little cherry maters for Clay today.
Here are some pics I took of my little garden with it's monsterous mater plants, lol. The white tubing with the net is the cage thingy Larry made for over my garden to keep the critters out. We had lifted it off so I could get to the plants.

Sandy, Next year make sum cages outa welded wire like ya use to reinforce a concrete driveway. Jes cut it into 3' sections and hook it into a BIG cage. Don't ever buy a whole roll. goo around to construction sites [if there still is such a thing] abd sum one will give cha sum scrap pieces de ain't us'in.
Bye de bye, Pretty beans
Bye de bye, Pretty beans
Thank you Jamesbo. I'll write that down.
Next year I'm gonna plant my maters over where the propane tank used to be, and I'll use this space by the deck for my beans and green peppers. The pepper plants just got choked out by that monsterous tomato plant in the middle. I put the Cherry maters on each side, and that Better Boy in the middle. That sucker is taller than me! I've never seen a mater plant like that. It must like that manure and fertilizer I put in with the dirt there last year, lol.
The green beans are sooooo good! I like to pick em and eat em off the vine, lol. They're the Blue Lake bush beans, I'm pretty sure.

Hewwwooooo you wascallllwwwy Olds peepls
Hmmm, got a small problem. The shingles on the house are starting to show premature wear. The ones on the lower hip rafter roof face south and get a lot of sun but not much rain. Shingle color is two tone grey, so it should not absorb as much heat as darker colors.
Anyway I was looking at the roof yesterday and noticed the shingles in the valley have almost no pebble left and they're warped like taco chips. So I called the peeps the company that shingled the house when we built it. (I keep ALL documents for the house; even have the specs sheet, bill of sale, addendums etc) Anyway they said I needed to contact the shingle manufacturer and open a claim with them. The roofing co was really nice and gave me the installation date, type of shingle, and how many bundles - because the manufacturer will need all that.
Got the manufacturer on the line. Yup, it's pro-rated warranty. The shingles failed at about 55% of their expected life. So now I have to jump through some hoops proving the shingles are theirs, yada yada yada. Got this roof inspection report I have to get filled out, and take pics of the whole danged house from every side. Sheesh, it's only the south hip roof (about 240 sq ft) that I'm concerned about.
So I had to phone the builder to get the 'invoice for shingles' as requested. Ya, good news must travel fast. They will have to call me back next week and dig that out of their archive paper files. Don't have in on the puter.. Yay! more delays. Heck with all this kind of hassle it would prolly be easier for me to go buy the dang shingles and redo the damaged areas myself. It's not that hard - done plenty of roofs and lived to tell about it. Just the principle that the shingles failed 'under warranty' makes me want them to cover some of the cost to replace them. If they do pay for the shingle replacement they won't include labor - I know that. That's when I get the ladder out and do it myself. Fortunately the hip roof is only up 12 feet instead of the main roof - it's about 24 feet to the gutters.
Clint - that was a great joke. Keep 'em coming.
Jamesbo - I gots me some bush beans to. Problem is I gots to stoop so loooow to pick em. Thought about pole beans, but I'm not European.....
Sandy - that's a good haul off one lil plant. Keep it watered and it'll keep flowering. Love them beans lightly steamed and smothered with butter and lightly salted. My maters are like yours - the tiny ones are really tall this year - I reinforced the cages with some bamboo sticks in the ground and hooked them all together with plastic zip ties. They're really solid and help hold the plant up nicely. The Early girl mater plants are lot smaller and they have big maters and are just about ready to turn.
Here's my small garden; starting with Green Beans - they're about 1 1/2' tall and are producing about 2X what you got in that tupperware every day. Yeah, I gotta cut the grass again....

Tiny maters on tall plants

Big maters on Tiny plants

Special for you. The first is Liatrus - just starting to bloom (about 3 ft tall) and the second is called 'Autumn Joy'. It will blossom in Sept and you won't be able to see the flowers with all the bees and such covering it. It smells very sweet and attracts flying things like crazy

Scot - hope you survive the weekend! Keep an eye peeled for guys hittin on the daughter. (like I had to say that.)
Don/Adrian/Ken??? Where you guys hidin??

Good evening everyone.
And again, it starts storming right at the time I'm headed to work. The weather radar shows the heaviest part of the storm should hit just about as I walk out the door. I think I may have to be a little late tonight.
So it's Friday. My first two days weren't terrific. We traded in our late plane last night for an engine change. Never a good time. We also wasted more than two hours looking for the right equipment, which we never found. I have to say I work with a talented team of people. We figured out what would work in a pinch, and it did indeed work and was safe. Of course we are our own worst enemy; when we take up for the company's shortcomings, they are more intent on not giving us what we need. They figure we did it before without something, we can do it again. But let something happen and we're hung out to dry. I suspect it's the same in a lot of big companies, but I hope not.
Allan that's a beautiful garden. I'm lucky if I get grass to grow. Of course the grass has a big challenge around here.
Scot good luck with the party this weekend. Sounds like everyone will have a great time.
Well I need to dog-proof the house before I leave. One day I will find a containment system that they can't get out of. Have a good night everybody.

Morning all, havinga cup of joe, and then I'll be off to the Gilmore Car Museum, for a show, a two hour drive taking the senic route, supposed to be in the mid-90's, so It'll be warm. Maybe I'll run into our continental traveller Oliver.
Good Saturday Mawnin All
Well I got everything accomplished yesterday that I set out to do.
Now let the festivities begin
Did I say that?

Anywho what's funny is that the berfday girl wants my world framous beef stew for supper tonight
In the middle of summer?
Okay, you want it, you got it kiddo
And for supper tomorrow she wants my framous grilled steak and mashed potatoes, which to me seems a bit more appropriate for this time of year. LOL It makes me feel good that their favorite meals include my chef-pertise.
Allan it sure looks like you have a green thumb
You too Sandy you plants are doing great as well!
i didn't plant a single thing this year, maybe next year I'll till up the old garden and plant it up.
Have a good time at the show Dan and be sure to take plenty of pics for us that cannot attend.
That would be way cool if you did meet up with Oliver! He has had some kind of trek across the two countries.

Saturdays are great aren't they??
Gonna be a nice day. Forecast high is for 80° with a gentle 10 mph breeze. Clear sky and plenty 'o sunshine.
Jamesbo - y'll jess gotta come outta yer shell der bud! BTW I made stew last night. Fresh garden veggies in it. (no hell a pee nyos though). My son and wife both thought I did an 'ok' job. Guess that means they're in for hell a pee nyo surprise tonight.
Scot - Thanks! I just checked and it's not green. But I try to keep things growing. Mostly I think it's the cow and sheep poop that do the work; not me!!
Udo - nice to hear from you again! Hope you are able to find time to get on here more often....Nice bunch of mopars there! Now you need an Olds convention...
Mike - Hope the dogs were ok last night. You have fun with the training?

Howdy everyone.
Day three of staying till the end. Whoever heard of staying the whole time you're supposed to be at work? Came home and had a bit of a nap. Things are clearing up but everything is a muddy mess. Don't know what I should get into.
The dogs seemed none the worse for wear when I got home this morning. They hadn't torn anything up. I don't think the storm lasted much longer after I left. Two things that bother me, not necessarily in this order, are that they are scared and destroy things, and that somehow they will figure out how to get out of the house. So I figured it out. I'm going to make them their own room. I'm going to line the spare bedroom with plywood, take up the carpeting, and that is where they will go when I leave the house for an extended amount of time. Heck, they have their own car they might as well have their own room.
Jamesbo I'm sure Ohio will appreciate your dance. The lake I was at last week is down almost two fee. The thing is something like 13000 acres, and is only 5-7 feet deep at the deepest point. It can't afford a drought. Something I found out, after I left there on Sunday a guy was out in his car and ran out of gas. He had a rope tied to the front bumper, so he jumped out of the car, the water was only up to his waist, and he heaved the car(with passengers) a couple hundred yards to the boat ramp where others helped him get the car out of the water. That had to look hilarious.
Got all my training done for work. Our department is having an audit starting Monday, and training is a big deal for them. So all the people that had training due had to get it all done, even come in on their day off to get it done if need be. Imagine, overtime for doing CBTs.
You know Udo I'm a closet Mopar freak, what I really want to do is get Beep-Beep horns for all my cars.
Scot beef stew sounds delish. Of course, so does steak on the grill. My fare this evening will be lasagna made by my mommy.
Okay! The sun is coming out and I need to do something so my first day off isn't a total waste. Catch up with everyone later.

Afternoon All!
I'm sitting at a small show over in Cuyahoga Falls at a school. Its hotter than Hades and muggy.... its around 95, and we're on the asphalt.
There was a big show in Doylestown today but I did not want to be in that Rt.8, 77 split traffic to get there. Other ways would have been way out of the way and with the price of gas here since yesterday..... so I came here. Its close, but a nice cruise. Not a whole lot of cars here - probably 30 and its participant voting. They have 3 trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I'll probably leave 8ish. Guess it goes till 9:30 and they have fireworks then.
There's a chance of storms - we've had some dark clouds around and its breezy, which is good.
Jamesbo.... love ya!
didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Make that rain for tonight ok?? Tomorrow there's a show in Brimfield I'm planning on going to. We have a 50% of storms tomorrow though so we'll see.
Allan R.... your garden is very beautiful!
I think I see some dusty miller in there too. Hard to tell on this Kindle screen, lol. Next year I have different plans for mine. If we didn't have all the friggin deer.... we cant fence everything.
Scot..... I want world famous beef stew!! I love it! Post your recipe. Nicole calls Larry's home made French fries world famous, lol.
I'm soooooo hungry. I had a Danish early this morning, and that was it. All they have here are big fat hot dogs, which I cant eat. No chips or anything.
Larry is gonna put steaks and taters on the grill around 7 he said.
Nicole came by work yesterday around 2 and stayed till 5. She followed me home and went out to eat and shopping with us. It was nice. Then her and a friend went to the movies and she came back after and spent the night.
She worked at the shop today and came home when she was done. She brought a basket of laundry and did that. Her and a friend went to the Twins Days festival when I left to come over here. Ive never been to it yet. I have seen several sets of twins around since Thursday... sometimes its kinda creepy seeing all these people who look alike, lol. But it brings in a lot of money for the city.
Where is Citcapp??? He will be happy to know that Larry started grading the yard for the driveway out to the back garage today!!!

I'm going to call and get prices on gravel this week. Its been a long time coming, lol. Just think..... I wont have to whine about it anymore!
Well...this is strange. I just saw an old Impala leaving with a trophy on the seat beside him, so I'm gonna assume they handed out the awards. Several cars have left. Think I'm gonna wander and get me a bag of cotton candy and leave too. Ill know not to come here next year.
Dr.Cha ching Banks better not have me in pain for the weekend next week cause I have shows planned both days. Maybe I should reschedule and not do it on Friday, lol.
Have a good evenin all!

Sandy, yes there are 9 dusty miller's scattered around the garden. Found a few places that looked a little bare so I put in some petunias. (Dark violet, bright pink, lavender). Gonna pick some more of the beans today, and another 7 maters are ready now. They taste so good fresh off the plant don't they?
That would be way cool if you did meet up with Oliver
Good evening everyone!
It's been another busy week. Some of it fun, some of it needed.
I took the Cutlass to a friend's house last weekend, to have him help me fine tune the carburetor. The car overheated both ways, so now I am trying to find the cause for it. So far I replaced the thermostat, and am almost finished installing a temperature gauge. I need to finish that and I'm going to buy a new rad cap and see what happens.
A local stock car track had a drag strip put in a few years ago, but never really used it. Over the winter I heard (from one of my bowling teammates who works at the track) that they planned on opening the strip again this year for street drags, just for fun. I decided to go last Friday and watch the runs, since I knew a few people running. It was fun, but it was also tempting... So last night, I decided to take the Delta to the track. I knew not to expect any amazing times, but I just wanted to say I've done it. The best time the Delta ran was 11.156 seconds for the 1/8th (I'm not into drag racing much, so I have no idea how that time would be for my stock Delta). But the most exciting part can be seen below in the pic of one of my time sheets (look at the reaction time!). I am car 03 (left side).

I had a great time last night and nothing broke. I am actually proud of the Delta because that is probably the hardest it's ever been driven. And I think I might just try it again sometime.
I spent today at a car show, hosted by a church. They are very good hosts. The entry fee is $10 and with that you get a t-shirt, a picture of your car as you enter the show, a can of pop, a burger or sausage (dipped in barbecue sauce if you want! who wouldn't?
), a bag of chips and they were passing out free bottles of water all day. It was hot, but the show was great, and I think I might go back next year.
Dan, I'll have to look at your pics from the Gilmore car show. I visited the Gilmore museum in 2008, while I was in MI for the OCA Nats. I loved it.
Sandy, you should pay more attention to the show than to CO!
Mike, what did you get done today? Do the dogs have a fully furnished room yet?
Scot, sounds like you have a great weekend planned.
Allan, good luck with the shingles.

Ahh hahahaha! Paul you sound like my mother! That's too funny. Actually I didn't get much done. After I slept a little after work I went out and messed around in the garage and the yard. I found a snake skin that had to be 8 feet long on the workbench. Didn't make me too happy. Well, maybe if he's living in the garage the squirrels will move out.
Dan(I think your name is Dan) the pictures of the Gilmore museum look great. I know the guy that owns that Amphicar. He's notorious in the club for having bad luck and everyone has a lot of fun at his expense. He's a good guy and takes it all in stride. By the way, there's a big print of that Olds picture at the Harrah auto museum in Reno. It's next to an Olds that's bigger than a modern day Suburban.
Sandy I think we need to rename Twinsburg to Car Show Central. Is that big show in Solon the one My Classic Car showed up to a couple years ago? You can make Jamesbo's mater pie now.
I talked to "Juice" today about the smashed F85. He says the hood opens and the frame isn't bent. It's just the bumper that's tweaked a little.

Well I got laundry to finish then I think I'll hit the sack. Awful house in the morning and if it doesn't rain I'll take in the junkyard in the afternoon. Have a great night everyone.

Evening all,
Looks like a storm brewing here. Lots of thunder - occasional rain - prolly will start pouring in a bit. Got up to 85 here today in the sun and breeze. Nice for working outside. Got all the yard work done.
Mike - if that's just a bumper tweak, I'd hate to see what something serious is. That's a whole lot of hurt on the front of that car.
Paul - Thanks. Hope you find what the source of the overheating is. Could it be the timing is too retarded?? Nice RT btw! Now you can say you've done it.
My feet hurt - time for a cool relaxing shower. Just had some nice cold watermelon! Mmmmm does that taste good on a hot day.

Jamesbo did your rain dance backfire?
Hopefully it'll fair up for you soon up yonder
Sandy the trick is to use beef stock not broth (1 qt) and V8 juice (12 oz can or two) instead of water.
The rest of the ingredients are.....
1 1/2 - 2 lbs red potatoes peeled and diced into 1 in cubes (even if you use Veg All see below)
1 1/2 - 2 lbs stew beef (1" cubes)
1 packet of McCormick Beef Stew seasoning
1 packet of Lipton's "Recipe Secrets" Beefy Onion soup mix
As for the other veggies, I do it two different ways. Depending on time, if I'm in a hurry (like today) I use 1 big can of Veg All (drained), 1 small can of Veg All (drained) and 1 can sliced mushrooms (drained). If I have time and a little extra $$ I buy fresh green beans (1 1/2 - 2 cups snapped), carrots (1 - 1/2 cups sliced), green peas (1/2 - 3/4 cup shelled), celery (1/2 cup thinly sliced), mushrooms (1/2 cup sliced) and pearl onions (1/2 - 3/4 cup whole)
Now that you have all of the ingredients ready; put the beef in the bottom of the crock pot, then add all of the veggies on top. Next take a mixing bowl and put the McCormick's stew seasoning and the beefy onion mix in and stir in the V8 and beef stock. Then you want to make sure that the mixture covers everything and that everything is submerged or even with the top of the veggies. Now the secret to cooling with a crock pot is to leave it alone! Do not remove the lid and don't stir until it's done. 4 hrs on high or 7-8 hrs on low
Yummy!! Don't forget the cornbread and if you want to make clean up a snap use these before you put anything in the crock pot

Allan if your thumb isn't green then it must be brown from the manure

Dan hopefully your car will sell but I wouldn't give it away either. I can't wait to see the pics from the show
Sounds like a great event.
Udo that is some ultra cool pics there
I like most all kinds of cars and Mopar is in my top 3 favorites list. There sure is quite a selection over there
Mike I know that lasagna was delicious especially if it was homemade. Well the "world framous" beef stew was a hit here for sure. My girl's eat like birds and they even came back for seconds
Tomorrow evening will be the "world framous" grilled steaks Yum!
Paul it sounds like you had a blast as well
Wow $10 went pretty far considering all you get for it
Down ere you pay $10 to get in, $15 for a shirt, $10 for food & drink and $3 bottle for water
and if you want to race it's another $10 spot. Wow you cut a perfect light!! That's awesome and great reflexes too
With your 1/8 mile times it looks like you would be around a 17.7 sec 1/4 mile time and that is real decent for a stock Delta.
Well another big day tomorrow with the cast of Spartacus descending down upon my humble abode
I better get some shut eye
Good night All

Good night All
I was there, from about 11 to about 2 ish, assumed from your username you'd be in a 69. I took the 72 along, the guy on the gate asked if I was in the show; I should have registered it, but missed the deadline. I ended up parked way out from the show, near a Vista Cruiser that was clearly still in everyday use. I saw a 71 that had Muskegon on the card, must have been yours. I should have got in touch earlier to confirm, would have been good to chat.
What a scorcher, I would have stayed longer but was sweating too much. It was certainly educational; looking at some other Cutlasses I now know what I'm missing that should attach to some of the things I've been confused by. Also the few BMWs and Porsches made me a little homesick for some European metal. To be honest, a little bit of British cloudy weather would have been nice.

Howdy everyone.
Scot you guys getting rain? It's sunny and clear here in the Greater Stockbridge Area. The cow will probably bring her rock up this way later this afternoon.
Awful house was its usual happy place this morning. Church must have gotten out early because the place was packed. Oddly enough Walmart wasn't.
More nice pictures, Udo. I like the red Cutlass next to the Firebird. My Grandparents had a Buick like the one in the first picture. They were driving home from visiting us(about a 2hour ride) and a deer jumped out in front of them. Took out the hood and the windshield, the car spun and a truck jacknifed and rolled over the trunk. Not a scratch on anyone in the car, but the truck full of frozen turkeys made a huge mess.
Jamesbo your mater pies look like pizza. Is that the idea? Even if it isn't, you've inspired me to get some pizza for my supper tonight.
Zindon welcome to our little corner. I know another guy from your neck of the woods who is stateside this week. He's in Boston and the northeast.
I have got to get some work done on a car, any car, this afternoon. I'm falling so far behind. A couple of them have to go, and a couple of them need to get cut up into little pieces. Hope I don't them mixed up.

Good Afternoon Everyone.
No car show today. It was sunny this morning, but the weather forecast showed everything from clouds to severe thunderstorms, depending on which source you looked at.
We did get a short downpour at home, but still not enough to really help the farmers or water levels in the rivers.
Thanks for the great pictures Udo.
Mike, that is a pretty TWEAKED bumper.
Scot, the value for the show yesterday is not common up here either.

Morning all, gonna be a hot one today. I think I'll wait until after supper to cut the grass. Saw a 2005 Audi A6 Quattro on Kijiji last night. 81000 kms (50,000 miles) great shape for $3200. Thought I'd check it out and if legit, I'd buy it. Went on this morning and it says the ad was removed. Guess it was too good to be true. Told my 19 year old son Alexander that it could be a scam, but I had to check it out. Seems I was right.
Spent Friday and Saturday buying Josh a new queen size bedroom set and painting his room after selling his bunk beds. Today I'll set up his tv and playstation.
Next, we'll sell Alexander's bed and get him a new one too and paint his room, set up his tv....yada, yada, yada. Want to get him a good bed he can take with him. He's planning a move to Toronto to go to a school that teaches recording and music mixing. Don't want to dash his dreams so we'll support him in what he wants to do. Tried to push Vancouver on him as they have a school too, and it is a lot closer, but he is set on Toronto.
I'll do some more work around the house today and I'm glad it's a long weekend. I'm back to work on Tuesday, so after I do my "chores" I'll sit in the garage watch a few movies (it's "Mob Week").
Have a great day Olds friends.
