I am fortunate my IGA and Tru Value store, which closed and sat empty, is now a NAPA and Ace Hardware. I now have these stores 2 miles from house, which is nice.
I used to take the mower deck off my rider every Fall to install frame braces and the mounting yoke for a snow plow. Also had wheel weights and chains to install. It was never a fun ritual. Putting the mower deck back on was always worse. Everything had to be aligned perfectly, Front to Back, and Left to Right, and reassembled in a specific order or you didn't have a chance in hell of getting it back on.

Reece's Cheesecake - Oreo cookie crust, Peanut Butter Cheesecake, and Chocolate Ganache topping. Tastes just like a giant Reece's Cup! Downside, a billion calories per slice.

Went to the real hardware store and got some springs and a bunch of electrical stuff for a motor tester.

Got home, plugged the spring into the mower deck, and no improvement. So, I changed where the static end hooked, and got more force. Not enough. I bought three springs, so I doubled up the springs and got somewhere. It now positively disengages the belt when I shut the PTO off. The brakes don't really hit the belt, but I don't need it to stop in a second, I just need power killed so it will spin down when it spins down. Belt shrieks a little when engaging, which is good, because it means the belt was stopped before I engaged it. Calling it good, will mow later this week.

No, Just an observation of equipment cost after seeing Norms mower. My Deere zero turn mower cost almost as much as my 1st house

Ya, they ain't cheap for sure! I've always wondered if statistics bear out the extra cost is justified by fewer issues and increased longevity if they are well maintained? There was a brand of heavy duty riding mowers by the name of Simplicity that was big up north when I was a kid. The larger ones were more like a mini farm tractor than a lawn mower, even having PTO'S to run attachments. Everything on them was heavy gauge steel and they had Kohler engines. They were built like tanks and lasted forever if you could afford one to begin with.

Kenneth - Finally got ahold of some of the pics that depict what much of the terrain was like that the girls hiked on Sunday. We have quite a bit of very hilly terrain around here.

I don't know if I do anymore either, you see I'm not with them! I think I still want to get back out to Colorado and do some serious mountain hiking while I still can, but I'm afraid that window is rapidly passing with more aches/pains every year. To my wife's great credit, at 56 she stays in great shape and is still very adventurous. Don't ever tell her "she can't" do something, she'll do it just to prove you're wrong.

No argument there, and the temp started out at only about 58° at 0800, and only rose to about °84 with low humidity. They had really nice weather.

Strictly my opinion; but, I see this site (CO) as a training/testing ground for the other LLC dba Internet Brands sites.

I dont think you have ever been a fan of this sites qualities as a whole. Do you find this change considered an improvement toward being better?
I dont know one way or another thats why I ask, I do understand you have an expertise on the subject and will appreciate your views with respect.

Keith - I just posted on the other thread. Honestly, when you consider this site is a complete freebie, I've succumbed to the notion of you get what you pay for.

BTW, I'll just mention what I did in a previous life. I installed global network monitoring & management s/w in the private sector (early) & public sector (later) during my employment w/ Microsoft. Both the h/w & s/w I configured was to ensure security & contractual SLAs (Service Level Agreement) were being met e.g. 99.999% "up time". This involved all aspects of h/w & s/w. To give you an idea. Imagine walking into the monitoring/management IT department of a private or public customer with between 10 - 40 twenty foot square HD monitors all running at once in multiple global locations - think Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Merrill Lynch, Wells Fargo, National Health Services (NHS) Great Britain, Ford, etc. (private). I am not at liberty to discuss public organizations which reach every country & continent.

Roger That

I just appreciate the respectful views and the attention to the shared details of this Oldsmobile Legacy we have been entrusted.

Interest and passion not monetary compensation seem to be the motivation most members interact. Both in my opinion becoming a "Lost Art"

Helps me personally in my belief in the Faith with Humanity and Goodwill toward others and shown on this site on a regular basis.

I am proud to be a part of that.

Before there existed this thing called the Internet (WWW) and prior to E-Mail, we operated on a LISTSERV when E-Mail first came on the scene. Be thankful you weren't around to experience those days!

Jim?
Went Norte to give the super model a ride on her new boat. I've always wanted a road runner horn on something. The new boat wins.
Received an email you posted the above (w/ an image); but, don't see your post. A new Internet Brands "feature"?

Keith - I had been following Lee since it left the Northern Tip of Africa & stopped following since it turned nearly straight North a couple days ago - a welcomed relief. Thanks for inquiring.
Bermuda is ~650 miles from where I reside (Beaufort, NC). I estimate Lee is ~150 miles West of Bermuda which places Lee ~500 miles from me.
Current guidance suggests Lee will make landfall around Nova Scotia Province and Southeastern Labrador but by the time it makes landfall it's supposed to lose significant strength. Still, electrical outages might be significant.

I figured out the problem with the H/O's wiper motor. I made a harness, which works fine, to power the thing off a battery directly. Still won't park. I pulled the motor off the car, took the washer pump off, and found that the parking lock spring was not correct and was destroyed. I got a hardware store spring to work and now the unit tests correctly. I have some correct springs on order, I'll put one in, test, and reassemble.

A wiper motor/system which fails to park is a real PITA to troubleshoot. Glad you found the issue.
